What's your favorite thing about iPad?

Now that we've had time to bask in the novelty that is iPad, we can get our heads out of the clouds for a few seconds and list our favorite thing(s) about the device.

For me, it's Netflix and the ability to play and magnify iPhone games (two of my most favorite being Sonic The Hedgehog and NBA Live are absolutely gorgeous on the bigger, crisp screen).

What are a few of your favorite things?

I like surfing a lot better on iPad. Feels right to hold something if I am doing a lot of reading like on forums.
 
Being able to have access to all my docs, in a readable size, in the palm of my hand and at the push of a button. Love my MBP -- not giving it up anytime soon, but even it seems a bit clunky and cumbersome now. The iPad has increased my productivity two-fold. Carrying around the iPad from room to room or beyond is no big deal and no worries about the battery dying.

OP - My favourite thing is the magazine/comics aspect of it. I love that I can have a heap of magazines with me at all times......although trying to read them with the distraction of the Internet and game/drawing apps can prove to be tricky :)
 
I'm not asking for constant affirmation of my purchase, but the negativity levels in this forum are a bit high. No need to add to it.

You may not believe it, but I wasn't trolling in my first reply. The OP asked what people's favorite thing about the iPad was. Apparently my interpretation of the question is different from yours, which is OK with me. Personally, I think my first reply was one of the most diplomatic I've ever made in a "What's your opinion of the iPad"-type thread :p

Oh please! You so knew what was meant in the title, you simply posted to be snide about a product you don't care for. I think it is you that needs to get over that to be honest.
 
It's perfect

Batterylife rocks, great for surfing net, great for financial managing , great for email and it's light

I can take it anywhere without taking a charger
 
It's a great couch surfer. Last night I laid in bed, read some free book I downloaded (CIA Factbook), then trolled around MacRumors, read some news via FeedHopper, and then watched a show on NetFlix.

It's my favorite $600 couch/bed accessory.
 
A very portable email and web device that is bigger than the iPhone, which is exactly what I have wanted for quite some time.
 
My favorite thing about the iPad is the concept of touch computing. It seems natural and much less cumbersome than dealing with a mouse.
 
I love the way it directly connects to and responds to my fingers, so fast and accurate. Crisp clear beautiful screen. Can be anywhere, in any position, and surf. I research a lot and the ability to get instant answers anywhere anytime so easily is incredible.

Really appreciate how the iPad User Guide is so well written, thorough, easy, and a pleasure to go through to learn. Apple has done a fantastic job with this and the videos and all the online support. And the Apple Store folks are so jazzed, positive, helpful, intelligent and fun to be around.

I've always been happy with Apple but now, sitting in front of an amazing iMac i7 with an iPhone 3Gs and this incredible iPad 64Gs, everything working together perfectly, everything a delight, any problem fixed quickly via AppleCare or online or the Store, I can say my Apple universe is the bright shining star of my earth life as it opens up all to my ever curious fingertips.

Now if only there were a Skype camera ... I have a Newfie puppy and the breeder is in Belgium. I'd like to show her his progress in real time. Know the network carriers don't have the capacity yet but the lack of the camera is gnawing frustrating.
 
I seriously cannot put the thing down. The worst part of it is if you have it out in public get ready to be stopped by everyone. I was sitting at a sushi bar Friday night and I literally had the entire rez stop eating and come over for a demo, including the entire staff. The damn thing is seriously addicting!!

It is annoying. When I am surfing p... the news, I don't want people crowding around looking over my shoulder, making comments, asking questions...

I hope that this will stop as more people buy it and as people get used to seeing it.
 
It's hard to say there is one single thing I like most. It peforms 85% of the functionality of my laptop but is infinately more portable and more usable than a netbook.

On my 3G, I'd say the built in, contract free cellular option is one of my favorite things. As far as I know, this is a unique arrangement with a U.S. carrier.
 
Where to start?! I think I love a little about everything about it. I love it's classic design, I love the weight (not too heavy to bother me, but not too light to feel cheap), the gorgeous colours of the screen, I love the keyboard I could go on all day really, but what ended up selling the device for me, was browsing. I never seriously thought it would be better than my MBP, but I'm happy to have been proven wrong. :D

Btw this was written on my iPad, I'm starting to feel bad for my mbp :/
 
I'm about to be 49 and my eyes aren't what they used to be. On my Macbook and imac, I'm constantly holding down the control key and zooming in and out of websites with my two fingers on the trackpad. I just zoom the entire page and not just the fonts.

My favorite thing about the ipad is the pinch zooming feature. I use it all the darn time when I'm surfing. It was cool with the iphone, but it is extremely useful and very important to the ipad (for me anyway!)
 
Playing Pandora and reading the history of my favorite bands while on the elliptical trainer. Fits perfectly on the book holder, and unlike most books I've tried to read on the elliptical, I can actually read it (type size and binding issues have been the main constraints). The time on the trainer simply melted away, but I kept my usual pace.

I know eventually I will have read all the notes from Pandora, but that is what iBooks and the Kindle app are for. Maybe by then multitasking in iPhone OS 4 will allow Pandora, reading and my workout all at the same time!
 
Love about iPad:

- ability to read pdf files (still working on doc and ppt files)
- ebook reader (either eBooks for Kindle work good)
- video (for me, iphone is for music while ipad will be for videos)
- it's fast. internet speeds very good.
- calendar...finally I'll have a usable agenda to carry around

Need to improve on the ipad:

- inability to multitask is ridiculous
- ability to create app folders to better organize apps

Overall it's great, and the 'improvements' appear to be on the way in the fall.
