The battery life was MOST surprising...

I love the stuff I can't do on my laptop... Like book reading where it feels more like holding a book... Or subscribing to magazines that seem more like magazines and less like webpages. My favorite is drawing and using it like a sketchbook. The google maps and GPS feature is going to get a lot of play. I'm also big into photography, so the way it's a beautiful picture-frame and traveling digital portfolio is fabulous.

Things I'm doing that i didn't expect... HTML editing and FTPing.

My MBA is starting to feel rally neglected.
 
My favorite thing about the iPad is that the price-to-functionality ratio is so high that my decision not to buy one was fairly simple. I wish everything were so cut-and-dry :-\

What a tool. Although I am curious that your choice to NOT but one brings you to an iPad forum on a popular Mac site and compels you to post.... strange indeed.
