2nd Gen RED iPod Nano <3

ipod-nano-red.jpg

(typing this on my iMac G3 as opposed to my Mac Mini, OS9 Forever!)

x2

this was my second ipod (first was a 4th gen 20gb photo) still have it and still works :)

the red color sold me and bought it immediately when it was announced

First generation! Although it's tied with the third generation for sure.

I got my first gen. back in 5th grade, still remains the best gadget I ever had.

From my flickr...

Thanks for all the posts guys.

1st - iPod 3rd Generation (Touch buttons)
2nd - iPod 5th Generation (Video)
3rd - iPod Touch 2nd Generation

The iMac G4 (Lamp) is winning in the Mac version of this thread. The older apple designs were so iconic its been hard to improve on them in recent years! :apple:

Keep voting!

Initial wow factor - iPod 3G.
Best for media playback - 5.5G.
Most desired - 1 or 2G Nano.

I don't care for the metal look of the Classic or touchscreen controls for music. Has plenty of storage (for me at least) and a great battery (mines 3 years old but the battery still lasts a week of bedtime TV show watching and bus rides to/from work before needing a recharge.

I'm surprised to see the 5th gen getting so much love here. I thought I was the only one. :)

I have a 5th gen black 30GB, and I love it. I prefer this design to the current Classic design. My only gripe is the battery life. I've replaced the battery, but it still has terrible run time on video. I still love it, though, and use it a lot more than my 1st gen Touch.

I'm not a huge fan of the black one, I prefer white - but I totally agree. And the run time for video was pretty bad to begin with, it was the first iPod to do video so we have to let it off :p

1. This because it was my first mp3 player

2. Ipod touch 2g, the one I currently have and it's great!

You just put the iPod 5th generation Video in the lead! :D

I thought this thread would die by the end of the first page, so thanks for all the posts. I think I should stop posting randomness in my own thread though :p

Will only post again after allot more votes to tell you the scores :apple:

5.5 g for sure. I have a white one thats hooked up to my car. The only thing that sucks is that i think since I always have it plugged in (unless im updating it with new songs) the battery is completely useless. If i dont have it plugged in to the power it will die in about an hour :( But its really no big deal since i pretty much never use my ipod outside of my car. I just hope itll always work plugged in atleast.

Definitely the iPod mini. I have five, I buy them broken off eBay and fix them up.

Right now, I'm using a green first gen (mini) with a new battery and 16GB CompactFlash card as my day-to-day iPod.

No, its not an iPod. Besides, there is only 3 variations of iPhone at the moment

It sure as hell is an ipod. I use it as one, there's an ipod application, and I can sync my music with itunes. Don't tell me it's not an ipod.

I believe the purpose of this thread is for devices where the iPod is their sole purpose, not a supplement. You could start a "What's your favourite iPhone?" thread if you desired, as that would solve the confusion.

Thanks, this is correct. Although the iPhone has an iPod function, this is specifically for iPods not any other device. Someone could make the thread suggested in the quote, as future iPhone models will be available.
