It's shocking that they've gotten their act together!!

Just want them to give us access to WhatsApp on iPad, since we can reply on the Apple Watch now and can access via a Browser.

the browser access is terrible. It basically relays through the phone so if your phone turns off its wifi connection after being put to sleep, no whatsapp on the web.

WhatsApp released an update (2nd of November, Version 2.12.10) and they mention a change in regards to quick reply:

What's New in Version 2.12.10
• Quickly reply to messages right from notifications. Just drag down a notification to type your reply. (iOS 9.1+)
• You can also now reply to incoming WhatsApp calls with a message right from the call notification. (iOS 9+)

It's weird, as you could do it in the previous version as soon as you had 9.1 installed.

It's a start though, is what I meant. They've still got a ways to go. I'm still baffled by the people that were arguing that it's not possible for Whatsapp to do it cos it's tied to the mobile number, when there's other apps, like Viber or even FB Messenger that can do it on the same basis.

I didn't think they did it like that because it's linked to a number but because they do not store messages on their server. This is a security benefit for users, but it does have limitations. if web didn't rely on your phone's local chT history then web wouldn't show any messages you received at other times.

No, people actually stated on this forum that whatsapp web/ipad wouldn't be possible due tithe fact it's based on a number.

right, and I'm agreeing those people are wrong :)

but there is still a legit reason for it syncing via the phone
