Just noticed Fouad as a new store for Watusi called flekstore. Is Watusi supported on iPad now via this new store?

Sooo, went back to using a Mini after trying an Air which is way too big and heavy for my taste..

Which has me revisiting this thread on how to use WA on it.
Any developments since?

The ways to use WhatsApp on an Apple iPad are either via third party developer Apple App or the web based WhatsApp. https://web.whatsapp.com/. Meta has not created an App for the iPad yet, only for the iPhone.

Yes I did, but there is no updated news regarding WA, just silence.

Have you all missed that Beeper is public available and open to anyone? You can just use Beeper. Works perfectly fine, no third party app stores etc.

It seems to work better than the alternatives.

Wow.. can you use it as a sole device for whatsapp?
how do you activate?

QR code like any other device. Afterwards you just use the features of Matrix bridges. Works perfectly fine including notifications

Just tried it - unfortunately you need a Mac/linux/windows device…I’m a iOS/ipados user, so not for me :/

What IS going on with this? I've been waiting for an iPad version for ages and ages. It's annoying when people use it instead of iMessage but they do, and if I'm on my iPad I want to use that. Oh and for all sanity they need to introduce a search function!

I doubt it's a technical issue, rather some disagreement between Meta and Apple regarding advertiser tracking on the app or something like that.

Wouldn’t even be needed. It could also run as an iPhone app like Instagram does. I guess it’s more about many new devices that would suddenly join the network and stress the servers. Syncing is still “pretty new”.

i think multiple device syncing would only be a problem if Meta allowed multiple devices to be “open” under the same cell phone number at the same time. Meta could easily restrict one cell phone number “open” to one device at a time.

The only thing missing on my new iPad Pro is WhatsApp.

Literally the only thing. For that reason, I have to keep my iPhone on me. Otherwise I could‘ve left it elsewhere in the house and be solely on my iPad.

If you have a windows/macos device for activation only Beeper is a decent compromise.

notifications work well? Calls? Etc.

Notificarions work well. Calls are not supported yet but the app evolves rapidly, so it is only a question of time.
