i don't get your joke.

To move away from our galaxy would require at least a 2 million year flight at the speed of light.

----------

I tried Android about 3 years ago, but finally went to Android about 1.5 years ago, just after iOS 7 was released and the 5S didn't get a bigger screen.

I'm pretty neutral, like Android, like iOS - might stay on Android, may go back to an iPhone 6S if it's brilliant.

I tend to use apps that can be used on both platforms easily.

Agreed with this. Android vs iOS is mostly a matter of personal taste.

Even prior to iPhone, I was already fed up using iTunes to do anything. Apple has like BILLIONS of dollars... 12 figures. They can reach a TRILLION and I wouldn't care. Unless they are building a nation, rocketships, or funding nukes to North Korea, you reach a point when you have enough money to feed the whole starving continent of Africa. What's the point of becoming anymore richer except making the rich richer? Steve Jobs and Wozniak were never about the money. Tim Cook doesn't seem that way. Apple will never reach a low point like the mid-90's when they almost filed for bankruptcy. Apple is well-off for the next century...

I would love if Apple can open up just a little. Let other OSes use iTunes. Bluetooth or NFC other platforms. Make iMessages cross-platform. Google and Microsoft provide services for multi-platforms. Even Facebook can't capture everyone in the world with about 1/7th of the world population, what is the point of Apple force feeding us into their iTunes? They are not in financial dire straits. I remember my buddy once got a Creative Zen back in 2006. He told me because he hates iTunes and wants easy drag and drop. I remember regretting that stupid iPod classic 5th gen once my computer crashed and I couldn't retrieve my songs from it.

I am already thinking of moving away from Apple completely. What's the point if they don't play nice to others by always shutting out different users? I have an iPhone 5 with 5-6 hr SOT. Will give it to my gf or daughter because I am perfectly content with Xiaomi and Nokia as my phones with a Windows 8.1 tablet/PC. I get 9-10 hr SOT with all three. The only iPhone that reached that level was iPhone 4. The rest dips between 6-8 hr SOT with the 6 Plus being the only exception because of its large batt capacity. I think my next brand will come from four different OEM's. Sony, Nokia, Xiaomi, or HTC with ASUS in there for a 5th option. I also put Samsung and Microsoft over Apple in my Top 10 list of favs.

The Apple Watch seems to be a game changer. There have been done posts that people might return to Apple due to the apple watch.

As ambivalent as I was about the watch and the marketing of it, I like the appearance and where Apple took it and will probably get one.

The question is; Is the watch enough to get people to switch to iPhone? Apple snagged the low hanging fruit with the big screen but is the watch enough to bring those who are entrenched in Android? I really don't think it is in its current incarnation but possibly in a couple generations.

Tough to answer, but after having seen the apple watch I'm puzzled by why people think it might be ugly. I think it's the best looking smart watch out there.

First iPhone was a 3GS. Then got the 4, then the 5. Before that, I used an HTC Touch Pro, before that, a Samsung i730

Ditched the iPhone because Android and WP were making better use of the UI with widgets and livetiles while Apple is still stuck with their static screen. Plus the better camera was always on one of those handsets. Waited patiently for iOS 7 and when it ended up looking like unicorn vomit that pretty much killed any urge for me to go back. Since then I've used an HTC 8X, Galaxy S5, and the Note Edge that's in my pocket right now

Only thing that could make me switch back to iOS is the Apple Watch becoming a must have gadget that makes my life easier

Not sure what entrenched in any OS really means. I've had both, reside in Android now and I really didn't see a big deal in switching. Costs for even all of the apps I really use is minimal.

To your point, no, I don't think the current watch is enough. Not for me that is. I want a sim card in my device. Today was a great example of it coming in very handy. Ran a 5k for cancer with the family and left my Note 3 at home and didn't miss it. Responded to a couple texts and made a call with zero issue. The built in GPS worked great as did the exercise and HR Monitors.

I got the Droid Incredible a few months before the iPhone 4 was released on Verizon. Then, I made the mistake of upgrading to the Galaxy Nexus instead of another Android (Samsung S3) or iPhone 4s. Got iPhone 5s last year and looking to leave Verizon soon (contract is up in 6-7 months). Not sure what to get after. May stick with an iPhone 6s+ or whatever they end up calling it or go back to Android. I'd like to be able to use my iPhone 5s on T-Mobile so hopefully that works.

Many paid for apps generally.

3GS for over three years then 4S, Note 1 and then I hit a budget wall. I do have a Moto G. I like the Note 1, nice screen size, sd card slot, battery I can change, file system, I have gotten used to having more control. (also easier to get flash to work)

I disagree. Apple is making going to apple Harder. $400 watches, $900 phones, $800 tablets, $2400 laptops, $2400 desktops.

I know, I know you can get cheaper versions of each but apple's lowest priced devices are underwhelming and poor value for long-term ownership.

I still use my Dell Adamo from over 5 years ago.

Apples desktop products have always been good for the long haul as windows desktop products; Apple phones seem to see at least 3-4 years of updates. I would expect that of their watch.

Im also using an 6 year old acer laptop.

I take it you are using Xiaomi outside of USA. Wish it could just get a hold of in the States. Just curious.

I switched to Android in July 2013 when I purchased a HTC One (M7). I really liked it, except for the camera which totally sucked. I switched back to iOS in January 2015 when I purchased a 6 Plus.
