So, as there are so many threads about new iMacs, I wanted to do one about when people think it's coming. You can also post your date guess if you want so

Everything and everyone is pointing to October '09. So that's my vote. And the iMac is in need of a refresh, the design hasn't changed in practically 4 years (Plastic is still the same design, they just changed the material). We need something cool again like the freakin G4!

Based on the recent rumors, and the earlier ones from Apple Insider that suggested a price drop in the fall, plus the Macbook and Apple TV rumors, I believe that an Apple Event in October sounds about right.

I'm thinking October. However, I'm worried that if it is, we could still be stuck with Core 2 Duos.

And I bet you're right too. Whatever day it is, just get ready for a flurry of disappointment on these boards as always. EVEN IF we get quad cores.

Of course. However, if we see Quad-Cores, I don't envision there will be THAT much disappointment and I think a lot of people would pull the trigger. The only outcry to Quad-Cores is if they decide to go with a Core 2 instead of Nehalem.

core i7 920, radeon 4870, improved display, & im a very, very happy camper. thats not asking anything more than 'keeping with the times'. anything else would be gravy, but im not expecting the potatoes.

No choice for September (like, tomorrow, perhaps)? Well I would guess early to mid- October then, based on the flurry of rumors and Intel announcements from last week.

I'm guessing mid October - 20 October anyone? We'll know in the next 7-10 days if it's a good update/re-design as invites for a special event would likely go out? However, if it's just a bit of a refresh then maybe we won't here anything and it will slip out quietly. AND if it's still Core 2 Duos then I really do just give up:eek::eek:
