Apple is a fork from android and if I’m honest this iOS 11 is the best yet
The more I think about this the less sense it makes. ios is based on macos, which is based on bsd. Android is based/written from Linux. I don't think ios was field from android

I also recall Android being rewritten when iPhone OS was originally demonstrated.

I love my iPhone X but Apple's refusal to fix the garbage that is iOS 11 is infuriating. My phone was perfect until they started pushing the iOS 11 updates. Now my phone CONSTANTLY lags and hangs. I have to lock and unlock the phone to fix it. None of the updates have made any difference. It's not a memory issue, I have a whopping 56GB used out of 256GB. For the first time ever I am very disappointed in Apple.
How can I go back to ios 10?

I've had very few bugs with iOS 11, insignificant if there was one. Noticed a couple of performance issues-
1. Occasional UI lag
2. Poor RAM management
3. Battery usage / standby times same
4. Average battery life despite quite a lot of battery saving checkboxes ticked.
Except for the UI, the s/w core of iOS 11 feels its designed for iPhone 8 and 8+, not really X.

The biggest issue I have with IOS 11 is using the phone during app updates. However that is managed it kills the phone making it unusable while apps are updating

After updating to the latest public beta my iPhone X is starting to stutter and lag. Oh my..

I restored my 6s plus phone yesterday and wow wow wow. Runs so much better. I think with all of the betas at least once every 6 months one has to spend the day doing a backup restore. The only thing not working is watch to health sync and that’s a topic for another conversation

Why is backup restore different from upgrading?

I’m really sorry you’re having such a bad experience, but your experience isn’t the norm among X users.

I’ve installed almost every public beta and final public release on my X since I got the X in mid-November. I’ve had a variety of minor issues but nothing as bad as what you describe. On a few builds, my battery life was reduced from the usual 9-10 hours to 6-7 hours—but only on a few of the (many) builds released since November. Other than that, issues have been very minor and not substantially out of the ordinary for a new and fairly ambitious iOS upgrade.

You might have already thought of this but in case you haven’t: consider backing up your X to iTunes on your computer, then completely wipe it, then update to the latest public release of 11.2.5, then reinstall your apps and data. Yes, I know that’s a pain, but if you haven’t tried it yet, there’s a very good chance it will solve your problems.

Otherwise, if there’s an Apple store within driving distance, make an appointment at the Genius Bar; if not, call Apple support. You absolutely should not be experiencing all the frustrating problems you’re having, and there must be a way to fix it.

Meantime, hang in there and best of luck to you.

I upgraded to 11.2.5. Ran a backup in ITunes then Reset phone to new. When reconnected I set up with my saved backup. Took all day to get 578 apps back on there but the phone runs like new

But if you set up with your saved backup why did it take so long? It should restore to where you were before, right? #confused

The fact that we have a mix of people saying iOS 11 is awesome and people saying iOS 11 is Satan incarnate leads me to suspect third party apps might be the culprit in a lot of cases.

If third party apps can cause the home screen to drop so many frames on the X, something's wrong with the framework.

LOL, What? IOS has absolutely nothing to do with Android... not even a little. You are confused.

Android runs on top of a Linux core. Linux is a Unix like operating system.
IOS runs on top of BSD which is a Unix operating system.

BSD has been around since 1977. Linux was written originally in 1991. Unix has been around since 1969.

I’m not sure he’s using fork right. I think he means a split from Android, as in different. And I would assume he says ios 11 is the most different iOS compared to android? But idk
