Yes it is.
 
Both contain some form of processor, but whether they are computers or not are open to debate. Apple should be releasing updates for the models at least a year after production ceases, but important updates to iTunes, (like Podcasting), should see updates on the older models too.

I guess then we need a new definition. One that actually distinguishes between a computer and consumer electronics that happen to use a processor. By that definition a microwave would be a computer too. See how ridiculous this gets...? :)
