I've heard January 27th, April, June, and July. Does anyone have an actual answer? I know it won't be concrete but at least what month should I expect it?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7D11 Safari/528.16)

It's anyone's guess.

Apple has released all previous models in June/July.

Rumors that they may release earlier have popped up.

So, no one knows.

Given their growing competition, I think they will need to shorten release cycles.

Given I just busted mine, I think they should release it soon...

We have no more idea than you. History suggests Summer.

I KNOW without a doubt that my April 4th, 2010 is the correct date.

Why you may ask?

1. 4th day of the month, as well as the 4th iPhone! CANNOT be coincidence.

2. April is the only month that starts with an A (August doesn't count, it's a silent 'Au'), and Apple starts with an 'A.' Once again, definite factor here.

3. April is the 4th month of the year. 4th iPhone. How could this be coincidence? Oh wait, it's not.

4. April is my birthday month. The 4th is my birthday. This is a present from Steve to make up for all his past transgressions.

5. The manager of my local Apple store and I were having pizza a few days ago, and he went off to the bathroom leaving his pizza-stained memo on the table and I managed to get a hold of it. Please don't tell Apple.

I really have a good feeling about the new iphone coming out April/May,instead of June/July,and I also understand why Apple would release it earlier, because of the nexus one and other popular phones out there that are doing good and gaining more and more customers every month, I think thats why apple is making a move like that because they still wanna remain #1.

WWDC will be the latest i reckon.

Now the Nexus One is out, Apple may be feeling some pressure.

Im honestly expecting 2 iPhone models, a larger one similar to the Nexus One/HD2 Size and a smaller one between the HTC Hero/Tattoo size. This would get the iPhone into a bigger market, more App store sales etc.

Another witless thread ....

3G refers to the mobile phone technology not the iphone generation. Here's a clue Sherlock, the original iPhone wasn't called 1G (or even 2G), the 3G was the 2nd model, the 3Gs the third model.

And I never heard anyone ever refer to last year as "twenty, nine" or "twenty oh nine", nor to nine years earlier as "twenty oh oh", "Two thousand and ten" it is.

This is without a doubt the best supporting evidence that we have seen so far. How could anyone bet against that airtight proof???

i really hate this time...when everyone acts like obnoxious 4 yr olds about a new phone coming up...stupid rumors and crap like that..just wait til APPPLE makes the announcement
