Several ipads? They have only been out for a few months. Why have u gone thru several?

Oops, should have multi quoted... But anyhow to answer your question. I purchased the wifi version at launch, the upgraded to a 3G model. I have also bought and sold 5 or 6 off craigslist. Lots of people that may have had an impulse buy on an iPad then realize it not for them sell them cheap, $100 to $200 off retail. I buy up the cheap ones and realist them for just under retail. I've more than paid for my current iPad, case and accessories from reselling Apple products on CL. Just need to have a little patience and watch for the good deals. :)

My idea, even if jailbreaking is not for you, would be to jailbreak your iPad right before you sell it. Jailbreaking it first will add a little value to it and you could wait longer to sell it. You might even to able to sell it for close to what a new un jailbroken ipad 2 will go for. Just a thought.

huh?

who would buy a used ipad for $50 below retail? Generally, %60 of retail would be my ceiling for buying a used product-- a used ipad for $250-300 u.s. seems like a fair deal. You would think the registration and guarantee would be worth a $100--that said, i don't know if the guarantee is transferable--but thats work as well--so I'm back at $250-300. I bought the lowest end ipad as I expect the next gen will be significantly improved and i will be upgrading. Its been the best $600 (aud) i've spent in a while...

60% of retail? Are you kidding me? Used iPads are going to command a heck of a lot more than that, even when iPad 2 comes out.

I agree...
iPhones and iPods on eBay are good examples, just take a look at what a used iPhone or iPod is getting there, obviously keeping them in pristine condition is a big factor(something which my iPhones & iPads are always when I know I will be upgrading in the near future)
I figure a few weeks before the release of the 2nd gen. iPad comes out I will sell this for $390-$420..
I love this iPad but let's face it if you follow Apple's history the next generation releases will start with 32gb as it's base for probably $499, doubling my memory plus all the other improvements that it will have makes it well worth spending another $100-$125 for wouldn't you say??
This one incredible device and it's only going to bet better.
