The Misty Mountains
It's been a very long time for me. About when I played the original Aliens vs Predator. I still have nightmares with things hurdling down long dark hall ways on the walls and ceiling at me. Ok, I exaggerate, but seriously my shoulders and neck ached! I also remember being tense playing System Shock 2. I figure after you've done a couple of scary ones, you get acclimated and then you are immune. ;)

Doom 3 in the dark on my old dell laptop that gave me 15 fps... damn it was scary when a monster popped out and my fps dropped to 1 fps lol...

hmm many do

doom 3 (so SPOOKY!)
resistance (those dang zombie guys!)
resident evil (holy crap!)

im a wuss and avoid playing these games since they are too scary and make me like throw the effing controler

I haven't really ever been scared by a game, but if I had to pick one it would be the flood in halo.

Silent Hill 1 on the PS. I played it alone, in the dark, during a hurricane, non-stop from beginning to end. (and I'm not making that up)

Great game!

Residents Evil 2... I remember my older brothers playing that for PS1.. Then when it wwas my turn to play I couldn't even get passed the beginning (when the car/city is on fire and zombies are every where).. Zombies kept eating me :(

The original Condemned. I remember me and my friend playing it, trying to pass the controller to each other, in the end we just played music over it :D.

Doom 3 for sure. See if you can find it for Mac. I just played through it 2 weeks ago, even for mid/low end Macs it should be possible now to max out the graphics (the game still looks very good btw and there's a lot of mods tweaking the graphics/textures, Google for it)

Go and play Doom 3 on at least a 20" Screen, late at night like 2 AM with (surround)headphones on... I jumped like 30 times out of my seat and had to smoke a cig in the kitchen

I was around eight years old and went over to a friends house to play. His mother got out the board game "Life" and we played a game. Landed here, oops, you're in debt, landed there, oops, you've got kids.... It scared the stuffin' out of me. I remember thinking "if this is what the future holds then I don't want to grow up".

Dead Space did a great job of making me feel anxious through the whole game.

Silent Hill 3 was the last game that frightened me to the point where I'd stop playing.

Granted, I'm a horror game/movie fangirl.

doom 3

got the doom3 three yrs ago and stopped playing it since then. the single player story is indeed scary. but not the multiplayer, even then i suck on multiplayer mode.

Doom3. I was carefully going through a stage trying to remember the way and then an alien thingy burst out of nowhere and scared the shizzle out of me. I then couldnt stop laughing for ages (and I still got lost). :D

Thief: Deadly Shadows - the Shalebridge Cradle area was amazing.
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines - haunted hotel.
