I was disappointed by the last update to the 11” ipad pro (very few changes and no miniled) and decided to wait it out.

But now my current iPad is getting slow and im really getting thirsty for a new one..

Any word on when the 11” ipad pro will get an update?

Same here my 2018 11” iPad Pro 64GB and 4GB of RAM is slowing down in my hands. But I’ll only update To OLED or MiniLED and WiFi 6e.

2 possibilities I would say.

Autumn 2022 makes most sense historically but supply chain issues may push it to spring 2023.
Mini LED is also not guaranteed

What device are you looking at upgrading from, OP?
i think our comments will change depending on the age of your product.

i was in a similar position where my 2014 iPad Air 2 battery finally started to give up. I didn’t feel I would gain a lot out of the investment ahead of a miniled or oled launch. So I tried out a friends 2020 Pro this week To see the differences.

Today I am typing on a new M1 Pro 11.
It is so much faster, 120 herts makes the screen behave like it is a better product.
do I honestly feel my OLED iphone screen is THAT much better? Not enough to make me wait with the problems making me want to upgrade.

based on that, go to the Apple store to try one out or speak to a friend if they will let you browse the forum on it or something?

then you will know if you can potentially wait until November or later or if this new device will be good for you.

All the best.

Up to you, but updating my iPad Pro 9.7" to the new 11" Pro in February this year was a seismic shift! So much faster and more powerful, great design and screen is fantastic without Mini LED. If you have an iPad older then the newer square design Pro models, you can wait but I'd say it's not necessary to get a huge upgrade.
I have an iPhone XR and I appreciate it isn't OLED, but the iPad Pro screen makes my iPhone look like it came out 10 years ago! Colours and brightness no where near the iPad Pro level.

Having said that, my iPad Pro and Apple Pencil and case were knocking on the door of around £1000 in cost, so I can appreciate why you should also wait for the upgrade you want.

Having said that rumours currently say end of the year, I'd probably say October November time?

I second this, due to not needing 5G and most of my storage is in the cloud though the base model 11 suited my needs completely. Also ebay have a number of 2020 Pro Apple cases that are sealed for much less which was a big saving! £25 over 80

Depends. Dimensions are the same but the location of the speaker holes on the 2020 and 2021 are different. A 2020 case with full edge coverage could block the speakers.
That's an important clarification, the product in question was the genuine Apple case they would otherwise charge £80 for, which does not provide full protective coverage.

Need one now. Not sure if I should get a pro 11 or and air ??
I swear there will be an update in october. It has been soo long for the 11”. But if you need one like this month now, it comes down to 1) ProMotion and 2) Storage.

Do yoh need more storage? Get the Pro.

Will smoother animations benefit yoh in any way? Get the Pro.

If you want scrolling to be buttery smooth, or the lines that the pencil draws to be buttery smooth, get the pro. For the ipad promotion is enough to make me get pro

I got a 11" few weeks ago, even if a new one soon it will be more $$AUD here and I got $70 off better than nothing.
Mrs has my 2018 11" replaced a year ago so maybe next year she will get mine, nothing wrong with it though like new.
Pro motion, speakers, better screen, 128gb base, FID not stupid TID on button, all worth the extra $200 i paid over the air, and will last longer too.

I did have a 12.9" M1 for 11 months and sold it 2 months ago, great iPad but I should of stuck with 11".
Perfect size for me.

I really hope it’s spring 2023 and that the iPad Pro 11” gets the micro-LED.

I recently got a magic keyboard for my iPad Air 5 (also compatible with iPad Pro), most likely any new iPad Pro would be backwards compatible with the previous accessories, right?

We are not expecting much change physically for the next iPad Pro update, right, mostly the specs?

Spring 2023. There really are no specific rumors 2 months from when they would typically release it (October) and I think that’s very telling. It’s a supply chain thing likely. But they’ve also gone a year before with no update to the Pro line (2019).

May next year same time as last release, adding M2 is not going to make people rush out and buy a 11" iPad Pro.
Not going to be October when the iPhones are end of September.
