When will Valve allow steam downloads?

WHEN?

They said April. It is now mid April. We have several threads about a supposed steam beta, but from what I can gather, the beta hasn't even STARTED!

Is Steam really coming to OSX this month or not?

Has anyone gotten ANY indication of steam actually coming to OSX since the initial press release?

The beta was a 'closed beta'. So only a select few now how it operates. My best guess would be they are holding back with the Steam Client until the 'Orange Box' games is fully converted to Mac platform. I imagine the Steam client works perfectly, it just needs 'content'.
 
Can we put an end to all these constant threads about the same thing. Perhaps a sticky is in order?

There is a vacuum of information right now...

The other threads don't address this either.

But yes, a sticky with known, actual facts, would be good imho.

Stickies don't work unfortunately with any forum. They simply serve as a place for regulars to point newbs to go read when they screw up somehow but by then the screw up has already happened :p
 
Steam is going to be coming i think the Steam beta atleast the first wave was supose to be very minimal possibly devs/journalist cause had it been Joystiq engadget etc etc would have had articles on it the only way i found out was here i think atleast the first waves werent ment to get so public as it did.
 
So when will be Steam released?

April they said. Now it's the 15th April and no sign of the Steam mac release.

Release date anyone? :(

Seriously...people check to see if your thread is covered in another topic. If it is...POST IN THERE. If there is another thread and you found it went Off topic...START A NEW ONE AND STATE THE REASON WHY.

Second: We don't need everyone else pointing out the other threads ALL the time.

Everytime I read a topic, the only thigh you say is "there's already a topic that says the same".
I get why you complain, but you're at least a bad as the ones starting these topics. The only difference is that you're always the same person, and the people starting these topics are different ones.

This is just my oppinions, but I find you more annoying than all these topics saying the same thing.
 
Steam is being released on April 20th for anyone who's interested.











actually I haven't a clue when it's being released but this is as good an answer you'll get at the moment.

Just a few pixels below NEW THREAD lies the topic they were starting. Since the Steam announcement there has been an influx in "macrumors newbie" members posting duplicate threads with most paltry of reasons. These aren't tolerated on any of the other boards here.
I'm sure the regular members here don't want the same question being asked over and over, cluttering up the boards.

I'm sorry, but there is a BIG difference between the idiots and those stuck cleaning up after the idiots. Efficiency of communication is a good thing, as scattered and fragmented discussion on a single topic becomes unwieldy.
