Ugh, me too. My Wi-Fi model is arriving Friday but I'm really hoping to get a Cellular model in-store. Really fretting about that. And I still can't decide which folio color I want to go with Starlight.

I'm a simple person, just got spacegrey with black folio. I don't buy apple devices in colors because I know ill get sick of it in 8 months
Reading the tweet replies, it seems this is fairly common among iPads. Sometimes it is more noticeable in one orientation than the other. I would wait to buy it if you think it will bother you. I can’t cancel my order now but I’ll see how it goes.
I got tired of the drab space grays and blacks a while ago, so I get silver and lighter devices now. The starlight isn’t heinous enough for me to be turned off by it - still relatively neutral. The folio, though, I’m willing to spice things up with. Just can’t decide how
I also ordered a W-Fi model but hoping to swap for a cellular. My appointment to pick up the mini is really late in the evening so I’m not getting my hopes up.

Silver is the classic apple aesthetic, I might switch to that but there's no silver ipad mini lol
That’s the only reason why I pre-ordered. I wasn‘t sure how the cellular stock would be in store. Best of luck!
The screen issue doesn’t seem like a big deal in normal issue. He REALLY slowed that video down.
Apple jacked the base price by 25% and didn't up the storage..
Why on Earth should we give them a pass on things like this?
They want TOP dollar...they shouldn't have things like this on newly released products.
First of all it had been $399 for 8 years and received a ~massive~ upgrade. Second of all we have no idea whether it’s a hardware or software issue, nor whether it’s isolated to Dieter’s unit.
People replied on his Twitter that this problem happens across the various iPad models. It doesn’t sound like a new issue.

The form factor changed, but the quality specs on the screen (I'd argue, the most important component) are totally unchanged. The internals are "the latest right now" -- that's to be expected with any newer version.
Anyhow - no need to go through all that again.

In the videos it looked like there are 2 silver minis. One with a light pink hue and one with a light gold hue.
