did your new iPhone 13 Pro Max's weight make it feel like a heavy brick at first?

Agree, thanks to the extra thickness and weight, the 13 pro max has left the competition for dead, when it comes to battery life.

People were complaining last year that the 12/12 pro and mini had terrible battery life, apple fixed the problem by making these phones a tad thicker and slightly heavier, people are still complaining even when they’re getting great battery life. 🤦‍♂️
Imagine buying a phone simply so you can sit on this forum from morning to night trying to convince people why you bought said phone.

Better than doing the opposite and being negative like other people, not everyone dresses the same, eats the same, drives the same car, you don’t want a thicker and heavier phone, good for you, don’t force it down other peoples throat.

I won’t be replying to you anymore. 👋👋👋

Considering Apple mentioned they usually know what a phone's specs/features will be three years prior to release, I suspect they knew the 13 Pro series would be their heaviest phone yet so that next year's titanium design (which will likely be much lighter) is something noteworthy.

Allowing a 'problem' (or more accurately, discomfort) to exist so that you can market the solution to your created problem the following year.

I tend to do the old "rest the weight of your phone on your pinky" trick when scrolling/interacting one handed, so phone weight is actually something I notice after an extended period of use especially when trying to interact with the screen one handed. I don't really care about weight in my pocket or when I'm just holding the phone without pinky balancing.

I would like the next generation of iPhones to be lighter.

"Apple should stop being obsessed with thinness, people don't care about that, they want the best battery life"

*Apple adds 10 grams and 0.2mm to the iPhone*

"What the hell Apple it's a brick"

This post might make sense if you were actually quoting one person contradicting themselves. Otherwise, you are just listing differing opinions from separate groups of people.

The original “brick phone” from 1983. Weight: 794 grams

Imagine moaning about a phone’s weight on an Internet forum, like other options don’t exist. Don’t like the weight, don’t buy it, it’s really not hard.

I did notice the weight but mainly because it came up in so many impression and review videos. While I noticed it, the more overwhelming impression was a feeling of it being more dense or solid. After 10 days, I hardly notice any weight difference. Before thinking about trading in for the 13 Pro model if you are currently on the fence, give it a fair shot. The increased real estate and battery life should rule the day. The Pro Max models should also command a higher trade-in value. Let's face it. You are probably wearing shoes that weigh more than the iPhone 13 Pro Max. If the feel is an issue, put a case on your phone.

My father never complained about its weight because he usually carried it in the briefcase that came with it.

I still have my Motorola brickphone.... unfortunately, it no longer works.(since no carriers now offer analog cellular service) I also have a 1960s rotary dial desk phone that looks practically brand new. (having been in a sealed box since 1988)

And that briefcase weighed a lot more than an iPhone, and I'll bet he carried it around every day and never complained about the weight.

Our current civilization has become so soft.

I cringe every time I hear or read comments that flat edges and the width feel like the 13 Pro Max is "cutting" into the hand. Either put a case or dbrand skin or don't buy it. You are spending your hard-earned money on the performance and features as well as how well the device meets your needs more than how the device feels. I get that if it's uncomfortable to hold should be considered but give it 8 to 10 days and you won't notice the weight difference and you'll appreciate the performance and function of the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

back in 1985, I watched in horror as my father wrote a check to the manager at a leather goods store. He bought a leather brief case for almost $1000.(this is $1000 in 1985 Dollars) He slipped me a $50(which was a ton of money back then for a little kid like me) and all I had to do was to keep my mouth shut. If my mom asked, I was supposed to say that I saw my dad buy the briefcase from some guy in a van at the mall parking lot. I remember him buying a bag phone(Oki or Uniden?) and carried it in that briefcase.

although.... he didn't have to carry his own briefcase anymore about a year after that because he got promoted, which came with two assistants, a full-time driver and a company car(ok, so it was just a boring big Buick Le Sabre, but still)

I went from an iPhone XS (177g) to a 13 Pro (204g) - 27g difference, so just a hair under an ounce. The 13 Pro is 2.9mm taller, 0.6mm wider, and 0.05mm thicker. I don't notice a bit of difference in feel when using/carrying it.

Xs max to 13 pro max. Can’t say it was that noticeable. I think the extra weight is slightly more than a AA battery.

Same upgrade path I took. Yet to me, the difference between the two phones was significant and immediately noticeable. I was struck by the weight, yes, but probably more so by the shape/flat edges.

I've only had the 13PM for a couple of days, and I'm sure I'll get used to it. But for now, it still feels a little unwieldy as compared to my old XSM.

It’s annoying how people complain about the weight of the 13 Pro Max. Haha. They’re complaining about an ounce or 2 heavier compared to their previous phone. It’s not that drastic of a difference.
