I love my iphone so I think its wonderful that Apple made a souped up bigger version, although I wont be buying one since I dont really have a need for it. But I think its a great device for those who do have a need for it or just have disposable income for new toys..... that being said I think people are put off by the fact that Steve Jobs tried to pass this thing off as a revolutionary new device when in reality they just took the software and form factor from an existing device... granted they made it better in alot of ways and its a great idea to build on something which already super popular... but a revolutionary, groundbreaking, magical new device it is not. If anything the iPhone has this title.

Whenever someone tells you the iPad is just a big Touch or iPhone...

I hold it up to my ear and go, "Hello?"

Is iPad just a "big iPhone"?

NO! So all of you stop insulting the iPhone already! It´s a disgrace compared to the iPhone.

Is iPad just a "big iPod Touch"?

Pretty much yes.

Does the iPod Touch suck compared to iPhone?

Yes.

Does the iPad suck compared to iPhone?

Yes, but not so much than the iPod Touch.

Does the iPhone suck?

No.

Is the iPhone 1000x more useful than the iPad and iPod Touch combined?

YES!!!

Do I want an iPad?

Of course, who wouldn´t? But only, if I would get it for free, ´cause that´s about how much it would be worth to me. I can do already everything with my iPhone and much MUCH more. And yes, even better! ´Cause I can´t carry an iPad in my pocket on the go. And at home I´ve got an iMac. So someone please tell me why I or anyone already owning an iPhone or a computer would throw away their hard earned money and buy this darn thing?

Especially when the new iPhone HD is coming out in the summer. I gotta have some savings for that. ;)

I ask them if they want one ...

Then I head-butt them and say take this one then
or I tell them avatar is on it in 3D, and they go away confused.

Truth! (But again, don´t call it a "big iPhone"! It´s an insult to the iPhone).

I usually say something like "Is the Big Ben just a giant wristwatch?"

It's really a pointless debate. Yes, it shares the same UI as the iPhone/Touch. All three products also run a variant of UNIX. Neither of these, and numerous other features, really matter. What does matter is user experience.

There's some analogy to be made about the popularity of breast implants here.
