When's the MBP getting a HD screen?

I don't grasp the link between being 'for artsy people' and a need for high-def screens. Is there some link I'm not seeing between Aperture work and watching the latest blockbuster in 1080p?

The 'best screen' for design pros and artists is the screen with the widest gamut and highest fidelity, which has a usable and readable text/icon size. The 15.4" was just right in my experience.

I meant people who work with image or video by "art people"...
That's why I can't understand why there's not a higher res on the MBP...

i think the resolution for 15" MBP 1440x900 is perfect,
i own and asus 15"4" with 1280x , the font look to big and very i con is too big
i also own acer ferrari 15"4" with "high def" 1920x and the font is just to small to read it with my eyes,
seriously, i think the current MBP resolution is perfect, i wont go any higher or lower for a 15" widescreen.

You say that now, but truth is that you won't even notice it when independent res comes with Lepoard, which is why I totally hope that they get better res. I hate working on anything else than at least 1680 x 1050.

Working with 'image' (still photography, ie Aperture) wouldn't benefit greatly from an HD screen. Nor would video editing - in that case you aren't watching it in full-screen playback all that often anyway.

An HD screen would be nice for gaming and watching movies. Bigger realestate would be nice though. AT least have it as an option in the 17inchers.

Wouldn't it help that you could view the whole image or at least some more of it with the screen estate?
