I honestly dont understand how it happened, it was not an accident. I dont have a case for it which is why i put it in the seat pocket of my car so it would be kept safe for a long drive.
People have said possible heat issues with other ipads so that could be likely im not sure, even so it shouldn’t of deformed like this.
I dont know what the point of these forums are if people just keep abusing others experiences. I was just sharing what happened to me.

Those crease marks where it’s bent look like areas where pressure has been applied somehow. Maybe carrying it in a car and punching it in a moment of road rage is a bad idea ;) Joking aside I don’t think that would happen by accident ever, I’m not calling you a liar (I am a bit) but I’m just saying marks like that don’t happen without some form of impact. My 12.9” 1 TB unit is doing fine and has been taken out in its case and it’s still as flat as the day I got it.
"Maybe carrying it in a car and punching it in a moment of road rage is a bad idea"... You win the internet! Thanks for the laugh.

On to the topic of bending well it's a very large and very thin tablet.... Hmmm I wonder if this means you can put it in a book bag or car seat pocket without a heavy duty case like an Otterbox. I'm going with no on this one. As to "It was like that when I got it" comments I'm a bit skeptical. If it's purchased in person I doubt one would leave the store with a bent tablet and by mail it would be returned immediately. I've worked at a store where a guy tried to return a smashed phone saying it was like that when he bought it. The problem was it wasn't even the same model of phone he bought.

Apple is talking about a bend that's 400 microns or less than the thickness of 4 sheets of paper. They're not taking about iPads that look like they were sat on.

Edited to fix some weird double post

Haha....nor am I! Most of the earlier posts in this thread seem to be describing exactly what Apple are saying is within tolerance.

Mine is the the same.
