Because Leopard will be completely resolution independent. Basically, you'd get the screen real estate of the high resolution (1900x1200) while the UI elements (icons, text, etc) will look like they do at a lower resolution (say the 15" 1440x900 or the previous 17" 1680x1050). Larger and more readable but with the benefits of being able to display a full 1080p video without stretching/scaling.

October can't come soon enough. :D

Can someone tell me how will i see the real size on my pc, of the 17" HD desktop that their owners post in here? Im intrested in seeing the size of text, in apps and in their palletes!!!

What you want is not really feasible. As you've already noticed, a 1900x1200 screenshot looks like it was taken on a 22-24" monitor. The MBP still uses a 17" screen - not 22-24 (obviously) but it packs the pixels in much tighter (pixel density). Displaying the screenshot on my 19" monitor also yields the scrolling effect because it's a less dense display (only capable of 1440x900).

The best thing would be a relative comparison - someone posted one in the MBP thread.

ok... i see. so i prefer to do it myself, im more certain this way! So what are the dimensions of the 17" display (lenght x height)?

I got a 17" hi res and its friggen awesome! nice, crisp, etc. Im on that thing liek white on rice lately!
