Where do you get your games from?

This thread makes me remember the days of buying games at Games & Gadgets and Egghead. Really liked Egghead in particular, but maybe it was just the store I went to at the time (in Virginia Beach). I still remember the last game I purchased there, MechWarrior: Mecenaries.

I was the manager of a store in the Boston area (Brighton) back in the day when I was playing titles like Ultima VII: The Black Gate, etc. I remember things like the day the first Sim City demo showed up in our weekly order and we installed it on one of the demo systems to try out. Everyone that saw it loved it, well mostly anyway. Flight Sims were big and people frequently bought joysticks for them back then. All the mainstream apps came in huge boxes with multiple books/manuals in them, various reference cards and other stuff. RPGs came with cloth maps some of them. Boxes were all sizes and shapes. Lotus 1-2-3, dBase III, PageMaker, FileMaker, etc. I still remember the boxes and how big some were. It was a fun place to be at a fun time when all of this was just really starting to take off.

Going way back to then although I had a PC it was early on that I began to wish for a Mac. Many moons and a software development career later, I finally got my wish. :):apple:
