Finally I have arrived.....
For those with G5s, beware of the dust. Unfortunately, just blowing out the inside may not be enough, you may eventually have to pull out the processors, heatsinks and the bottom plate to get to the power supply.

Holly cow! That is a very nasty dust problem. I forgot about the dust issues with desktop units as it has more vents and openings to introduce dusts inside the machine.
Maybe Apple should put in a air filter behind the front panel as the fans suck air from the front to the back. That would serve as the air cleaner and dust prevention.

Yeah no kidding. Apple said when the G5s came out that that front grill was 40% air, so there's plenty of room for dust to fly in.

If dust is a huge concern, one tip I heard on a local radio show a few years back was to put panty hose over the main air intakes. Worked fine for older Macs (old Performas to the G4s), not sure about the G5/MacPro case though. LOL

Do I really want my Mac Pro to look like it's robbing a bank?

Just use compressed air to dust it off once in a while... there are cans or you can use an air compressor if you want, a vacuum cleaner is also an option and unlike popular belief it is NOT a danger because of static, I learned this from someone who is extremely knowledgeable on electricity and power.

Can someone suggest the stand or computer cart which complements MacPro nicely? Just putting MP under the computer desk does not appear to be a good solution. also, it is very heavy at 60 lbs and I think I should avoid putting it on my computer desk.
