Where is OS 3.2 or 4.0?

Well it obviously not ready for release. Or Apple are keeping something up there sleeves.
 
-no new UI, same tired stupid looking icons that look like stickers on the iPad

-no multi-tasking

-no front facing camera

Hideous
 
I understand we won't get 4.0 TODAY, but I was at least hoping for 4.0 Beta 1. Dang, we can't even get 3.2. We've been 3.1.2 since November. :(

Maybe soon, but the focus of this event was pretty specific. I don't think Apple would muddy up the news cycle with a new device AND additional, non-related info.
 
The iPad seems pretty pointless to me. It doesn't replace a computer or a phone. I already carry around my iPhone and MacBook Pro. Why a third device? The only thng I was looking forward to today and an iPhone hardware or software update, at least an announcement of things to come.
 
They didn't state what OS the iPad was running. So I am hoping it is OS 4.0 which we'll see later.

Who says ? Do you have inside info that 3.2 won't be coming to the iphone ? Most likely since the ipad will be running on 3.2 in March when it comes out, I wouldn't be surprised if iphones get 3.2 in March or April, or maybe June when they seem to release big updates. Too early to speculate though.

100% positive. ;) that the current iPhone 3.2 is what they showed on the iPad and iPhone 3.2 (currently) is not going to work on the iPhone or iPod Touch.
 
The iPad is due for release in 60 days, last year thats when the iPhone 3.0 was previewed. Im thinking its going to be along the same lines. 4.0 will add more features etc to the iPad.
 
Wow. I am under-whelmed. I was really hoping for some news about the iphone. I think the iPad is great, but I'm not really sold on that one yet.

I am sooooo disappointed.

It was all about the ipad today.
I didnt think they would spoil the new product release with iphone stuff.
They probably will review and show off their new iphone firmware in the future but wouldnt be a good time to do it today.
