I got a 2gb matched pair by G.SKILL from newegg. I think it was $85 shipped.
There was a deal on Newegg yesterday for 1GB sticks for $5 AR shipped.
$85 for two 1GB sticks isn't a good price anymore. They go for $35 shipped easily all the time now.

$95 shipped. Lifetime warranty. Brand name. Great retailer.
From what I hear, these are Micron chips as well.
Thanks for the link, just ordered 2 of those beauties.
Do not order it from Omni. I ordered 2gb and it work for 35 days and after 30 they don't replace bad ram. I should of never bought cheap ram. Crucial or kingston has great ram.
NEVER BUY CHEAP RAM FOR AN APPLE. ITS LIKE PUTTING IN 85 OCTANE INTO A FERRARI.
Yes, I totally agree don't go down the bargain ram route. Mac's seem overly fussy about the ram you install. I always buy Crucial to keep my Mac's happy ..Do not order it from Omni. The new SR MBPs will take ANY DDR2 667 (PC2-5300) ram. I not sure why people think you need special "mac certified" ram in order for it to work. Crucial is way over priced, especially since you can buy any 2GB pc2 5300 ram for around $90 a piece that will perform EXACTLY the same as crucial ones have to offer. The only thing I would keep an eye out is to buy a decent brand with a lifetime warranty. The patriot ram linked before is a good brand.Yes, I totally agree don't go down the bargain ram route. I have bought Omni many times member multimedia told me about that and have never looked back![]()
I hope the guys at Omni ram die a horrible death.
Before I retired I taught in a large Higher Education College equipped with over 600 Mac's.Source?
You are using emotive language, which, to my mind, only serves to create more FUD.
Please don't do it!
What you are claiming does not follow logically.
Apple are using Intel parts, present in an order of magnitude more PC's than Mac's.
(For the SR MBP, Apple are using Intel's 965 Express Chipset.)
My new 17'' MBP is on it's way and I would like to be able to upgrade the RAM from 2 to 4 GB the first day.
Which brand of RAM should I buy and what's the best place to get it - I live in The Netherlands but i can order online as long as they ship woldwide.
Cheers
You mean your 4Gb RAM as the MBP's have all slots occupied with 2 x 1Gb RAM...
