Just curious to see what your favorite Wifi hotspots are.

I spent some time with mine yesterday at Panera and Starbucks :)

Hmmm, probably at the park. Do most of my reading there in the summer. Panera is a big one. At a friend's home during sports events is another big one.

Any wi-fi spot I can find while on travel outside the US.

Used it at my local coffee shop today and got quite a reaction with strangers asking me if that was the new iPad!
:)

Me too! I had people non-stop asking me questions at the Starbucks and nail salon yesterday. :apple:

Motels/Hotels when traveling. Coffee shops, book stores and restaurants like Panera Bread, etc. There are tons of free WiFi spots. If you get a Starbucks card, put some money on it and register the card online you get 2 free hours per day. You have to set up the WiFi account at Starbucks (per customer service).

Yep, I did this yesterday. It works through the AT&T wifi network.

My sister takes the caltrain everyday. she loves her iPad.

other places i can think of:

bus/bus stop
coffee shop
airplane/airport
school
park

Library is a good spot for me. It's small, confortable and I'm there quite a bit. Right around the corner.

I will use it every where !!!! I have a jailbroken 3GS and I just tether it using MYWI .. It's like haveing a wireless router.. Ipad thinks it's a wireless network.. I used my ipad yesterday as a ginormous GPS screen while driving... It was freaking awesome !!

Nowhere really. I consider this a portable device within the four walls of my home. I might use it outside by our pool. I might take it on a plane for reading and games. But I don't see the iPad as a "walking around" device. Too big and heavy. That's where the iPhone shines.

I can already see myself taking my iPad everywhere with me.

The most common wifi hotspot I'm at is a coffee shop. Other than that, there are a few others that I end up at from time to time.

I'd really love the ability to download files on it though. It woul be so much easier than taking my MacBook into town whenever I need an sdk update.

Around the house, I'm already using the iPad more than my MacBook. I just set up a wifi network and then grab the iPad and sit wherever I want around the house. It's quite nice. This message was typed on it. I'm loving the keyboard.

I'm going in to the hospital for surgery later this week, and will have to lay still for 6 hours afterwards, and then stay for a day or two more. The hospital has free wifi so my iPad came just in time!

I also took it to my great grandmother's house this morning. I bought iHeritage last night, and she helped me fill out a bunch of the family tree entries. What the app does is lets you build a big family tree. It was priceless setting it up with her. Plus I found out a lot about my ancestors.

Cablevision's free wifi for its Internet access subscribers has me covered on a large part of Long Island. RR/bus stations, parks, shopping districts.

Wireless LAN at work. Or actually just wifi tether to my phone and use it anywhere.

Even the iPad Case Will Get A Mob

:)

I have a 3G on order, but checked out the iPad at my local Apple Store. While I was there I purchased the iPad Case. I didn't ask for a bag. That was a mistake ;) Everywhere I went in the mall people stopped me when they saw the iPad Case carton thinking there was an iPad in it.

I plan to use my iPad going from meeting to meeting instead of carrying my MBP. Mostly for getting policies off our university site and reference e-mails of course.

I'm at Panera now getting mobbed. It's a great way to meet people! ;)

There should be an app that has a database of free wifi spots around the country.
