I've seen this before, months ago. Back then it was determined that a case with residual bumps on the inside caused this, which made me check all my Mous cases (all fine).
And that is also the reason I'm no longer using my copy of the PR Gen 7, which has these bumps in the TPE corners.
In this case I would assume debris got under the rim of the camera plateau surround and wasn't cleaned out. This will happen with any case if you don't clean it for months. (The OP even mentions they have not taken off the case since launch day)

We just recently changed the name of this thread to include all iPhones. All generations, all versions. And we already included the Air. So I vote „all goes here“.

If it gets too confusing when the new phones drop in a few weeks, we could decide to always add the type of our phone when we discuss a case, so it's easier to find via search.

Got the Sunset in and man this thing is a beauty. So glad I went with it over the Moonrise, the colors aren’t as bright as they look in some photos. Mine actually seems super dark. You were spot on Zenso as far as the sharp edges the 600D black to this one is night and day. Super smooth. The open buttons are a slight adjustment but I’m happy overall. I can rock with this 🤘
