That's good. Yea, they are drop shipping them from Pelican, this is why it's taking so long just to see some movement.

Vader, what's your favorite case so far?

Apple leather lol. Though I just got a Speck Presidio Grip2 in black. We shall see.

The RhinoShield looks cool with the Carbon Fiber, but I’ve read it’s very slippery. Can you comment on the feel? How does the phone feel in the hand?

I had that one and returned it the other day because it was so insanely slippery. Fit wise, it was perfect, and the carbon fiber back had decent grip, but the frame around the phone was like holding on to a wet bar of soap. It’s a shame because otherwise it was great.

I have the black leather, feels great in the hand and not too heavy/ bulky. Prefer this over silicone, though it has better grip, silicone is sticky attracting dust lint and difficult to drop in and take out of pockets (at least for me!).
I can get silicone case for less than 25 bucks while leather case would cost twice more expensive
My concern is more about silicone longevity and magsafe mark
I will use it for my magsafe (unofficial) car mount

I love the look, fit and protection of the SolidSuit. Buttons are very good also. It is a slippery case though but I think you get used to it as you use it more. I was thinking about trying a thin strip of grip tape they sell on Amazon for the sides of the phone under the buttons to see how that does. I wonder if it would look okay and if anybody else has tried this?

I came this close to trying that with the grip tape, but in the end decided to just cut my losses and return it to Amazon. I know I’m just putting off the inevitable until I can order the DBrand Grip once the silly MKBHD drop finishes on the 12th. I still can’t believe a company would refuse to sell their product in anything but one configuration for 2 weeks right after one of the most popular phones on the planet releases. It has to be one of the worst thought out business models I’ve ever seen.

I've read reviews that said the Dbrand Grip case is just like the SolidSuit but with much better grip. I almost ordered the Grip case to tryout but I just don't care for the uneven lip around the screen where it is higher on top/bottom and lower on the sides. I know it is supposed to help swiping and a lot of people like that but I like an even sized lip all around. I'm just going by the pictures though so maybe it is not that noticeable.

Oh, the uneven lip is actually super noticeable on the Grip case. It’s actually one of the things I love about it, but I realize it’s not for everybody.

So far I have the Spigen Liquid Crystal clear case.

Ordered both the Peel soft and hard case (it was BOGO free for Black Friday).

The Spigen case is okay but not thin enough for me. I’m only using it until my peel cases arrive. I also ordered a Naked skin from Slick Wraps. 2 weeks ago I ordered the Totallee clear case and Pink Citrus Apple Silicon case and returned it due to the lint magnet from reviews. The Totallee case was not as thin and soft as the one on my XS Max so it went back within 24 hours. I now like thin clear cases to show off the color of my phone.

I was wondering hope you liked the Peel cases. I tried the soft clear and didn’t like the buttons. Was wondering if the hard Clear had button covered out cutouts. I prefer curious to the covers that are hard to push. Be sure to let us know what you think after you get them.

Posted this in the sleeve thread but thought some of you might be interested in this.

Just picked up the Baltic blue leather sleeve for my 12 Pro Max. Some impressions:

+ Premium leather quality and feels soft and supple in the hands. I would say this is the same type of leather used in the leather wallet. The leather case is definitely not made of the same material or leather.
+ Phone feels secure in the sleeve and you have to shake it really hard a few times for it to start sliding out
+ Sliding the phone in and out is not that difficult and should get better over time as the leather loosens
+ Matching clock colour and background is nicely done
+ Using the phone caseless feels great and lets me appreciate the design more.
+ Slot for cards will take 2 cards comfortably and a very tight squeeze for 3 cards

- Sleeve is very wide and makes the 12 Pro Max feel even bigger. The overall width of the sleeve is 95mm.
- No interaction with the cut out window other than tapping it to see the clock or to see the charge percentage. I do not understand why there is a speaker cut out if Apple’s intention is not to let you interact with the phone or take a phone call. They could’ve just made the sleeve completely enclosed with no cutouts. There must be a software update coming.
- Have not taken out the lanyard from the packaging. Seems to be more suited for ladies who like to carry their phone with the lanyard around their wrist.

Overall it’s a very high quality sleeve that protects the phone. If you are those who are on the phone 24/7 (including when you’re walking on the sidewalk) then this sleeve is not for you.

I think it’s for those who like to put away their phone and want to disconnect from it when you’re working or in the office or going out for dinner and need to focus on the person in front of you.

I will be keeping this until after Xmas and see if it suits my needs. Can always just return it before the holiday return period expires in early January.

Wow! I have 2 Nomad rugged cases and neither have slop at the top or bottom of the case. I’ve been using one for just over a month now and it’s been great. Mine are for the regular 12 in the natural leather color way.

I have a feeling this affects the 12 Pro Max case more so than the 12/Pro Nomad case. Mine had it on the 12 PM case I had so back it went. Really disappointing because those are usually my favorite cases.

Doesn’t look like it, but Zagg has the Gear4 Battersea on sale for $30 right now on their site (through December 7th). Regular price is $50.

Tried to order the Battersea from ZAGG but can't get through their checkout. Get to where you enter the information and the site just spins for days. I'll try again in the morning.

It’s just a leather sleeve that protects the phone, like the ones by Jolie Originals, Crazy Horse Craft, Lucrin etc
And people thought the old folio was expensive, $189AUD for that  at least it was useful, no way you will keep it? Guess if you put the strap on some won't have to hit with their handbag lol.

I got this exact case for my wife’s Mini and while she’s happy with it, I wasn’t impressed. She loves cases that are ecologically recyclable, but when I put it on the phone I immediately noticed the bottom has some sag to it. It doesn’t bother her, but it would drive me crazy.

I’m currently looking at other eco cases from other companies to get her for Christmas. Incipio, Tech21, and a couple of other ones are now starting to make eco cases and it’s good to see.

Just to follow-up on that clear Pela case, I am not impressed either. Its plastic rims are too big and chunky and are indeed too soft. However and rather ironically, Pela Slim case actually has tougher sides (not as floppy) and should wrap the iPhone better. It is also way better looking, if you can find the colour you like. Good luck with finding a good eco-case! ?

Tell me I’m not the only one who wishes the Tech21 Evo Check came in a clear. The smoke black is great but it shades my red iPhone and I like showing the color. The Evo Clear doesn’t have the same grip.

After doing some more research, I came across this company called Woodcessories. They actually sell their cases on Amazon, so I order this one for my wife’s Mini and will put it in her stocking for Christmas.

Woodcessories - Phone Case Compatible with iPhone 12 Mini Case Grey - Ecofriendly, Made of Plants https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08KWGSNFX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_lC6YFbQA6FCQK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I really like the way it feels and it seems much more firm than the Pela clear case. I think it’s a great choice if you’re looking for an eco case.

I agree. I’ve got the Graphite 12 Pro Max, and my only gripe with the Evo Check is the Xs they insist on putting on the back. If they’d make the smoke case like the clear case without the Xs or put the same grippy rim on the clear case that the smoke case has, it would be perfect.

100%! I don’t even mind the Xs since it’s somewhat unique. It’s the smoke black I’d like to trade for clear. It’s just so grippy.
