Yeah it's my 18th Birthday tomorrow, and I sold my Shuffle for £50 and I'm gonna get an iPod Mini from John Lewis.

However, I don't know what colour to get - blue or silver? Personally, I preferred the old colour of the blue iPods Mini's.

I haven't seen them in real life, but what would you say is nicest out of the two?

Thank you!

BTW - it's the 4GB version I'm getting!

Green, obviously!

EDIT: But if you're going to John Lewis you may have to take what they have got! Silver would be my guess, but out of silver and blue I'd go blue.
BTW a lot of people I have talked to say they liked the old, more subtle colours too.

Pink! It's really bright and bold.

But yet again blue is the boldest.

And the green looks pretty cool.

Yet... there is something to be said for the simple class of silver.

No, they have blue and silver in stock and I'm very efficient and organised and told them to keep one of the blue and silver back for me, and they are going to do that until Monday :p.

I can just immagine myself in the shop...Blue....no wait, Silver..yes Silver...BLUE!!!!!!

I too like the old blue, why can't they make a normal color blue. like crayon (not the crayola crayon pack of 100+ ;) )
If i were to get a mini i would get the silver, the blue seems a bit feminine

Ok here is the deal.

I don't think I'll be able to go to John Lewis to get the product due to my dad working etc. However, an Argos store (a catalogue) is near me and I've checked both in the catalogue and checked my nearest store and I've checked online.

However, the price is right at £139.00 but it says it only has 8 hours battery life so this is making my believe it's an old iPod mini. Surely they must be sold out of these already and have the updated ones in stock?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

In my opinion...

PINK - Girly, not for you
BLUE - Nice, but it's everyones choice. Maybe a tad bland?
SILVER - Minimalist, and quite boring
GREEN - Juicy, bright, different, surprisingly nice too look at and, IMO, almost edible! It's the true iPod colour I think.

And I see you've settled for a silver one  Ah well.

I might be getting a blue one next week :) (my first iPod!) I'm going to Australia so hopefully I'll be able to get one cheap :D

I never regretted getting the original green one. And would most certainly get a green one again, if I was going to replace my mini with another mini. :)

I miss the tangerine/orange option, though... :D

Silver is classic and therefore will match to a greater variety of outfits. Just like silver just about anything else (beltbuckles, earrings etc.)

there's no blue and orange option... :( ... why not candy striped? polka dotted? and what about apple pattern or something equally wacky all the fashion brands are doing it :D (eg the weird apple louis vuitton)

Hold on a second, will it work with USB 1? Or will I need to get the FW cable in order to make it work?

I just bought my wife a new green mini and the USB cord does work with USB 1. No problems syncing and charging to my G4 FP iMac.

I ended up getting a 'big' 20 GB iPod :D

It was the deal I got that did it - $400 (US$285) for it, compared to the $515 (US$365) that they normally go for here.

mine is silver, not that you can tell since it is almost always in its black case.
