You will get PCI-E 1.1 X16

As for the topic the only game/app I know of that will have a noticeable performance gain from PCI-E 2.0 is Flight Simulator X. On one hand $125 is nearly 50% of the card cost. On the other hand a EFI video card sells for ~$100 and I doubt you can do things like Nvidia Surround under Windows with any EFI card (would have to be another GTX570 which would be pointless).

Thanks,

And is there any real tangible benefit for going with the 2.5gb over the 1.25gb version? I do video in premiere (prores hq mainly)

Looking to pick up a 1.25gb version for cheap locally

having trouble finding comparisons . . . is there much of an improvement in gaming performance (either under OSX or windows) in going from a radeon 5870 to an nvidia 570?

How do you power those cards in a Mac Pro? I see no additional power connectors inside it and they demand more power than the power the pci-e port can provide

there are 2 mini-pcie power connectors on the motherboard- they're behind the fan assembly.
ati used to sell cables with the proper connectors on them, and i know MVC sells them currently as well.

I was in the same boat awhile ago and did some research. GTX570 is certainly faster across the board. However it really depends on the games/apps you run. It can be anywhere between no gain to like 20% or so. I am personally waiting for the GTX670/80 drivers to mature. That jump will easily be noticeable.

The shipping would be $45 instead of $25. And if I get charged Customs when you send it here, I would have to pass that on.But I have never once been charged Customs when something sent here.

I had my GTX960 recently flashed by MacVidCards, and it is working to spec with the EFI boot screen now appearing. Very happy with the service. However the Customs issue cropped up for me when the flashed card was returned via USPS and reached the UK. I was charged £40 Customs Duty for importing the card, which I had actually purchased here in the first place. If this was not paid, then the card would have been returned to America. While it is possible to have the duty charge refunded via bor286 (see attachment), the inconvenience can be avoided if re-import procedures are followed as outlined here:
