Temp sensor

I just upgraded the drive in my 1.83 Intel mini with the Scorpio Blue. Haven't done anything more than re-install the OS yet, so no comment on any bump in performance. I must not have put the case back on carefully enough, though, because the fan is horribly loud now :(

All you did was not get the temperatue sensor put back on correctly. Sometimes the adhesive will not stick back. Check it out to make sure it is put on correctly and you'll be golden.

Golden?
I thought "golden" was a description of color. The evolution of the English language is outdating dictionaries at an exponential rate.

You have never heard that expression? Its like saying the same thing as you will be good or or alright. Don't give me a hard time about linguistics, EH? lol

I'm considering buying a Mac Mini that has been upgraded with a 320 GB 7200 RPM drive (don't know manufacturer offhand) and was curious whether anyone who's already done so has had any noise/heat issues after the upgrade?

Cant even tell the difference :)

I got tired of the limited space with the 2.5" drives so I decided to go the 3.5" drive route. I got a eSATA cable and a external drive enclosure and crafted up my own solution. I now have 1.5TB drive connected to my Mac mini... and it runs like a champ.

What is the eSATA cable connected to? Is it snaked into the Mini, which is then missing a HDD?
