yeah i will if i get an internal. how did you make a bootable backup?

oh yeah, thanks for voting! :)

I've heard good things about SuperDuper (iBookG4user posted a link), and I think that Carbon Copy Cloner could also do this, but I didn't have to use either. Since everything comes installed already, all you'll have to do is input your settings (email, etc.) on the drive that ships, and then when you pull it out it's set to go. If you want to keep it as a proper duplicate of your working drive you'll probably need one of the above mentioned programs, but I use a separate external drive for that kind of thing (and use Retrospect Express, which came free with one of my externals).

thanks for the tip

well i ended up getting a Seagate 120 GB internal for $169.99 tax free. do you think that's better than spending $300 for 160 GB? think i did good?

the 120 was the only SATA 2.5 that they had

not if 120GB will suit your needs!

well let's just say i have 2 external 300 GB hard drives hooked up to my imac and it already had a 160 GB hard drive in it.

i guess i can make due with the 120 internal and then use 1 of the 300 external.

haha, yeah. thanks. now if i can just get set on white or black....i guess i'll sleep on it. getting my macbook first thing in the morning :D

How's the 120 working out for you? I'm getting ready to buy and I'm leaning heavily towards a 160GB Hitachi. With OSX and then a partition for windows, r
it really splits up the drive space.. I want as much as I can get for both.

They're instock a lot of places now, they run about $210.. and I'd like to order another stick of ram to max out this macbook... so it works out well.

Anyone ever order ram for macs from zipzoomfly?
