Which internet connection is faster?

Because my current is ADSL and high speed ones are cable or fibre cable. ADSL uses some kinda phone cable so it's not ISP's own so they have to pay something to use it etc, I don't know. Cable connections are: Cable from ISP's server to you home. I'm not an expert, that's why I'm not sure
