Probably better off with a Google home max. She can ask Google to play TV/music, and with some work on your part you can make every electronic device in the home controllable by voice.

In my house every light, TV, oven, ac etc is all controlled via voice. Would be great for someone with limited mobility.

Good idea! We already have some of this but everything would be amazing!

Thanks everyone. We held out on a new iPad for right now but will get one if she thinks it is possible for her. Right now not really. :(

Though we may try on the older iPad first to be sure soon.

My brother had a stroke around 14-15 years ago. From successful phd lawyer in DC to living with parents in basement. Little movement in right hand. Little speech. Capable of one or two words or maybe a phrase but still takes a few mins to understand what he’s saying.

iPad did not work. Can’t hold it. Even bought program on iOS (proloque or something like that) to help get his point across but waste of time. iPhone hardly gets used.

Best we can do is pc where he can sit and use a mouse.

It's possible to use mouse/trackpad with the iPad now. There are tablet stands one can use so the operator wouldn't need to hold the iPad.

That why I am not sure if it would help or not. Sorry.

I think it probably works as designed. I seem to remember one of Apple's keynotes featuring someone who was quadriplegic using that device.

With that said, I doubt anyone here could give feedback on how well the device works since it's a very niche item.

True your right!
