What features do you have to turn on?
The „Pro font“ in the camera app? DI? ProMotion?
I can’t think of many features I’d have to turn on manually.
I surely miss your point.

The cost of an iPhone didn’t change much since the X in the states. The differences are made pretty clear in my opinion. The 13P is a big upgrade from a Xs, the 14P not from the 13P, but that’s self explanatory. A 1.5k phone can be used for more than a year or two.
I don’t think the problem is the phone but your expectations. If you aren’t happy with the jump from Xs to 13P/14P, that doesn’t mean that the Xs was peak iPhone. Far from it imo.

Not sure why my own choice and opinion offend you but again, I would rather have my XS Max than my current phone. My opinion, my choice. I don't really care about everything you just listed.

Your phone and your choice.

You don't need to justify yourself to anyone :) If you prefer your XS Max that is entirely acceptable. I loved my XS Max when I had it.

I snubbed the X and had the 8 Plus and for me it’s probably the best iPhone I’ve had to date. Battery life was brilliant and it was super reliable in terms of very little software glitches. I still see them in use too whereas the X and XS are quite rare these days in my part of the world.
Same why does everyone hate 8+. I wish the would make the SE+ already with its chassis and Touch ID.

Why would I get offended? I just questioned the logic behind your thinking, that doesn’t mean it moves me emotionally. I thought of the “features have to be enabled” thing to be something you might want to follow up on since I’m genuinely curious what you could have meant, but oh well.
You’re all defensive all of a sudden, sorry for that. Didn’t mean to offend.

My XS Max had a terrible modem (Intel)
My 12 Pro Max had a terrible battery.
My 14 Pro Max.....FABULOUS!

13 Pro. Went from the 11 Pro. The form factor on the 11 Pro was phenomenal, easy to hold, fairly light, battery was great, rounded corners made it seem thin. 13 Pro feels bloated, heavy, and thick. Battery life isn't any better.

This is my greatest wish 🙏 An SE+ in this form factor would be an insta-buy.

I still have an 8+, I lucked out scoring an Apple refurbished 256gb last year right before they quit selling them. Still my favorite iphone ever, though I don't really use it much anymore b/c the stupid esim makes it too much of a pain to switch between it and my 14+. I really don't get why people hate on the classic design so much. We liked home buttons just fine for 10 years, yet once a new design comes out it's suddenly terrible and anyone who still likes it is wrong? I hate the internet sometimes lol.

Anyway... I don't really regret any iphone, but I wasn't too crazy about my 12 pro max. It was too big & heavy and I gave it to my sister after a few months. Ironically I daily drive a 14+ now, but it's much lighter so the size doesn't bother me.

iPhone XS

Only because I upgraded from the X to the XS and then like 3 weeks later decided to get the XS Max instead.

So I had to take a lil financial hit to move from the X -> XS -> XS Max, where it wouldve been a lot cheaper to just move from the X to the XS Max.

Hey, but atleast the XS Max redeemed itself as my #1 or #2 favorite iPhone of all time, so that has to count for something.

Probably my current 14 Pro Max, the 13 Pro Max I had before that was perfectly fine. I'm going to be very hesitant on my next "upgrade". I'll admit to using the iUp program each year and it's sucked me into these somewhat unnecessary upgrades.

I had the following iPhones: 5S, 6S, X, 11 Pro Max and 13 Pro.

I really liked all of them except 11 Pro Max and that is the one I regret purchasing mainly due to the size. I wish I had gone with 11 Pro.

Probably the 12 Mini. It was brilliant but the battery lasted 5 minutes. I swapped it for a red iPhone 12 which was in reality Pink. I took this back and got a black one instead which I still have now.

iPhone XS. I was so hopeful that I would get decent indoor pictures of my kids and pets and was so disappointed instead. The 11 Pro was a quantum leap in photo quality.

For me it was the XS Max.
I bought it new in the beginning of 2020 (for half the price) and had it for about 6 months.
Then upgraded to the 12 Pro Max in the autumn of 2020.
I was disappointed of the camera and the biggest problem was the battery.
As a medium user the battery barely hold the day. Most day I had to charge it after coming home after work so it could last to the evening😅

The 12 PM was significantly better both in photos but above all the battery life.

Still have the 12 PM and I’m still happy about it😊

I don’t regret getting my iphone 11 pro max. I loved that phone. But i DO regret taking it up on roofs with me at my job while installing solar panels! I’ve never once gotten so much as a scratch on my iphone before working this job. But in the last 6 months I’ve shattered both the front & back screen twice as well as the camera lens….and that was with a heavy duty case on it!

I kind of wish I replaced my 12 mini with a 13 mini instead of the 14 Pro. The 12 mini‘s battery was pretty lackluster and 64gb of storage probably wasn’t enough for me. But, I loved the form factor. The 14 Pro has some nice features, but as someone who just uses their iPhone for basic uses, it’s a bit overkill. On the other hand, I’m very confident this 14 Pro can last me 3-4 years, if not longer. I couldn’t really see myself putting up with the 12 mini much more.

Tough one... I dont really regret any of my iphone purchases, but i think my 12 pro max was my least favorite due to the less then stellar modem, battery and lack of pro motion. The 13 pro max felt like a nice bump up in comparison.

I don't regret any of my personal iPhones, I was slightly annoyed when my work gave me an iPhone 8 in 2021, as it's quite a useful work tool, but the screen was really difficult to be productive on, especially as we were expected to be able to update shared Excel spreadsheets from our phone every morning.

Surprised people are saying the 12 Pro Max battery is terrible. It's 8:31pm here and I'm at 73% battery. Not sure why I would need more.

You're obviously not a heavy user either. My wife can burn through the 13 pro max battery before the days even up, she lives on hers for work. But the 12 pro max wouldn't even get her to the end of a work day, much less a full day.

iPhone 6s. Thanks apple for throttling the performance of my phone. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Was also the worst battery life I have ever had on an iPhone too (phone would completely shut down after reaching 20 %)

I've only had the following iPhones (in chronological order):

16GB iPhone 4S - Work Phone
128GB iPhone 6S Plus - Personal Phone
128GB iPhone 7 Plus - Personal Phone
16GB iPhone 6S - Work Phone
64GB iPhone 8 - Work Phone
128GB iPhone XR - Personal Phone

For the work phones, the 4S was rock solid reliable; the 6S was perfectly good too; the 8 might've been my favorite. But it was also the one work phone I was issued brand new.

For the personal phones, the 6S Plus was my all-time favorite. I deeply regret moving to the 7 Plus and not either sticking with my 6S Plus or getting an 8 Plus. Those Plus iPhones were and are still my all-time favorite iPhone design. The XR had some software glitches and I was too stubborn to really do anything to fix them until now (after I've already resolved to replace it with an iPhone 13 [those glitches were troublesome, but I want a better camera and larger storage than what my XR has]). I might've also enjoyed it more if it wasn't my first foray into Face ID, which I really am not a fan of, at least on an iPhone. If I had to pick the iPhone I regret owning and using the most, it would be my 7 Plus. That phone could not be more opposite from its direct predecessor in terms of quality.

iPhone 6+ absolute garbage due to 1GB of RAM. Couldn’t keep more than 2 safari tabs open at the same time

This is my iPhone history;

- 5
- 6S
- 8 Plus
- 11 (current).

I don't regret any of them to be fair. They were all great devices but I seem to remember really liking the 8 Plus!
