Agreed. I wasn't impressed by the Gear at all.

I was. Over 70 apps that support Gear functionality, with things like Path and Snapchat? That's actually really cool. I really want a Galaxy Gear now (although the battery life is depressing for a device it intends to be). I hope Apple's iWatch can match the functionality of the GGear though.

And thought I'd see you ChazUK, know you were a fan of the Mega. ;) Certainly seems like a capable device, just much larger than anything I'd want to hold to my head for calls.

I normally roll my eyes at my phone when it rings.

Somebody wants to speak to me on my smart device? How dare they? :D

For such a phone fan, I do very little calling on it. Messaging & email are my primary things (with some video calling too).

My usage patterns are definitely one of the reasons I can cope with such a large device. :D

The irony here is all the GNotes have had a very low SAR rating.

So even if you did hold it up against your head, it still draws LESS RADIATION than smaller phones like an iPhone 5.

SAR can be an overrated thing to some or maybe NOT. Maybe a big "I TOLD YA SO" a few decades from now.

Not nearly as ridiculous as these: (Xperia Z Ultra and Galaxy Mega 6.3)

They may be very capable devices but I'm sorry, you invite ridicule holding either of these up to your ear for a phone call.

Lol, it is much more ridiculous seeing that in real life.

They do look very big, however its all about preference. I prefer the size and feel of the iPhone 5. Maybe if Apple comes out with a larger screen, maybe I will check it out.

I'm surprised this thread is still here. If we were to post something like this in the iPhone section, I'm sure we'd be getting warnings and time-outs by now.

I think it's a good example of how a potentially aggressive (in responses) post can still turn into a civil thread. :D

If the intent was to wind people up, I can't say it's been a success.

Definitely something that is needed more, logical over emotional responses.

Yeah, considering what the OP was trying to do, this thread has been a real yawn fest.
