I wasn't happy with the 4200rpm HD in my Air so I installed an SSD.

The 4200 drive would occasionally beachball just loading apps

Was very annoying.

I'm not demanding but it was rather tedious.

The SSD isn't stellar but it helps.

I will probably get the the 1.6 with the SSD. With a student discount the SSD option is $430 (not too bad now...relatively speaking) :D

Upgrading 1G -> 2G Air, and loving it!

Own a 1G Air 1.8 SSD, buying 2G model 1.8 128 SSD. My college age daughter is getting the 1G as a hand-me-down.

Expect to own the 2G Air until product release of the 3G, at which point I will upgrade and provide the 2G as a hand-me-down to one my other children.

At the same time, I'm buying an equal amount of APPL stock with the expectation that it will buy the next machine, maybe more than one given the outstanding prospects at this price level.
