I actually really like the look of windows. I just worry about certain google apps and compatibility. For anyone with a windows device, is hangouts available and are push notifications reliable?

There is damn near no official apps. Most WM apps are 3rd party clients of the official apps/services.

I'd have picked MIUI if it was available. Its beautiful stock, but can also be changed via beautiful themes. I went with Lollipop, but frankly I think KitKat is nicer.

That's why I haven't even thought of getting a Windows Phone device. Plus, the quality of the apps just isn't there.

Android will soon pass iOS in terms of quality, and in terms of app downloads, it already has.

I should really have clarified in the original post that I was deliberately ignoring custom Android skins. Was only really interested in including stock Android skin in the poll (otherwise there would have been too many options, also we haven't seen many manufacturer skins of Lollipop yet)

Where are Meego and Sailfish?

I had heard of these at some point in the past, but they had completely exited my memory. Perhaps should have included an "Other" option in the poll though.

Sailfish is some kind of reincarnation of Meego, and I understand BB10 was redesigned inspired on Meego.

I think Android got a lot better with the 5.0 release, though I still think the edge goes to iOS. Android 5.0 has a better lock screen, but the apps page to me looks worse than iOS.

I use both Android 4.x and iOS 8.x extensively and have to say Android is not only more advanced but also more intuitive. Looks like the design team was high when they worked on the psychedelic iOS 8.x look and usability.

Windows 8.1

It's design language is the most unique and absolutely the most user friendly (arguably more user friendly than iOS and definitely more than Android or BBOS).

Second would be iOS 8, then Android Lollipop, then BBOS. BBOS is just gross.

I feel like Lollipop is the Android equivalent of the early OS X versions. It is really, really pretty and a great change from the 4.X models, but I think at some point Google will scale back some of the superfluous colors much like Apple dumped the candy buttons in OS X.

Overall, Android is really pretty, but probably a little too much so.

iOS is too boring to be beautiful but I would use it over Windows 8.1 because of app support.

Meego social feed was fantastic ... I loved my N9 but third party app support was utterly non existent after first few months of launch...
