I would say iPhone 11

Only because the phone to this day still feels superior and excellent

I own a 11 Pro Max its a little too powerful for me but its definitely future proof for about 3-5 upgrades

iPhone 11 Pro Max can be purchased brand new for under $1k for the 512GB variant from phone carriers. Funny thing is the price is identical for ALL storage sizes, so make sure to select the 512Gb variant. Also it is cheaper than an Apple refurbished 11 Pro Max 512GB variant that goes for MORE THAN $1k. New>Refurbished!!

Its really that simple? Just call customer service and they will unlock it? Why sell them locked in the first place then? During check out, it looks like you have to pay the full price anyway so why sell it locked if a simple call will unlock it? It seems too good to be true.
I read the terms and conditions. Says service must be active for 12 month prior to requesting an unlock.

It's the same in the U.K. the phones will likely be locked to the network you bought it from but a simple call will unlock it after a certain period (depends on networks but normally about 3-6 months after purchase, if on contract - immediate if PAYG).

Though I've just seen that network providers here in the U.K. will be banned from December 2021 from locking handsets altogether.
