At first seeing your comments thought come on it can't be that bad, well yes it's that bad.

You're kidding me right? That site is nowhere near that bad. I've seen some crapola sites that are far worse man. The joy of ipad site needs serious redesigning yep but kicked in the face? Nah ;) :)

Hi All -- Sorry that our front page at http://www.joyofipad.com failed to impress many of you! Although David Ramsey (my partner) and I have been community building on the web for years we don't have a lot of design experience. I do think we'll make it a little less busy in the next week, maybe hiding some of those tags, killing a poll, etc.

But I hope that the front page did not scare you away from visiting our Forums? We're using the Agora Forums and have been able, I hope, to tailor an interesting breakdown of iPad interests where people can discuss them all. We do have an active -- small -- group of people already and we would certainly welcome more participants. I really want to make this an online home for people who love the iPad. Maybe some of you recognize my name from some years ago when I ran all of the Macintosh user group Forums on the CompuServe network and then was Editor of the old, print version (my God they used ink!) of MACUSER Magazine? I only mention all of that to try to validate what otherwise seems an extremely dumb or naiive thing to say -- that I think the iPad Community is the first such Community since the first Mac owners got online. My only goal at Joy of iPad is to try to give just some of that excitement an online home.

Well, thanks for looking! And we're always trying to improve the place! Best,

Neil Shapiro
