The possible Apple phablet has piqued my interest. But I feel like the Note 4 will ultimately end up in my pocket.

Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note IV, Sony Zperia (2014), HTC M8, Nokia (Android), Windows Phone with windows OS 8.1. I am not including the iPhone because there is nothing innovative about the iPhone. iOS 8 will be no different then iOS 7, bigger screen will be less that 5", Still no HD screen...etc.

After seeing leaked images of the HTC One (2014) and I personally expected more of the same which it is, my anticipation for the iPhone 6 got even higher. I'm curious the type of power Apple will put into the next iPhone seeing they packed so much of it into smaller footprints. I'm hoping that fake render shown a couple weeks ago is more of the real thing. Bigger home button and edge-to-edge screen. I think Apple is shifting their marketing focus more on white front panel iPhones in their ads. The black iPhones are starting to take the backseat ever since the iOS7's mostly white backgrounds came out. And gold chrome trims around white does look nice to alot of people over the same boring black.

I'm also curious what Samsung and Sony announces within the next few days at MWC. The Samsung Galaxy S5 might surprise me or it might not. It is still Samsung. No sense of style or originality. More a follower. They know how to play things out even if they come out with a great design. Like that popular song that plays on the radio like 100x per day. But Samsung does have some great technology that they haven't fully utilized yet like flexible screens.

Definitely the 5.5" from Apple. Latest rumour is that it won't be called an iPhone?

I'm adding the Yota phone to my list. A dual sided screen with regular LCD on one side and e-ink on the other sounds intriguing.

With the recent announcement of the Sony Xperia Z2 and Samsung Galaxy S5, looks like I can cross them both out. Typical sequel follow-up. Same might apply to the HTC One (M8). No wow factor or fresh new feature. Samsung decides to emulate Apple yet again. They will sell 50M minimum of these S5's even if it never reaches the 80M-100M sold from the S4. Just internal improvements with split second differences opening up apps and going water resist like Sony and fingerprint print scanner like Apple did last year.

Surprisingly enough, the only phone that interested me from MWC came out of left field and that is the YotaPhone! Now I know most people don't look at the back of their phones, but this might actually work for e-book readers. I wish Sony can make another Xperia Play phone. The first one from 2011 flopped but I know they can improve it the 2nd time around, keep it thinner, and use the device as a gateway to the PlayStation Mobile Store. The PS Vita isn't exactly a huge success for them.

Current watchlist -
iPhone 6
Nexus 6
Moto X2
LG G3
YotaPhone
Any dual booting phone that can run Android + Sailfish/Firefox/Tizen/Windows Phone....

I'm hoping the manufacturer comes out of nowhere and becomes a runaway success like the guy who created Flappy Bird. The expectations won't be so high. I don't want to keep anticipating great things from Apple or Samsung and continue to get disappointed from them year after year.

I can't upgrade until September but I did take an early interest in the Samsung S5. After seeing it I'm looking forward to what Apple have to offer as it would be easier to get another iPhone. I just hope its not too big and there is a sub 5 inch option.

I like the look of the Z2. So will sell my 5S when it comes out. Overall a little bit disappointed with the 5S. Not bad, but the camera lets it down.

Xperia Z2.

Very underrated line of smartphones. Hopefully people take notice this time and Samsung's dominance in the Android marketplace would be properly challenged :)

Only thing likely to be better this year is a hypothetical Android version of the 1020 *drools*

I don't think they are, still we have the note 4 to look forward to and they are always a more impressive spec wise.

I'm looking forward to the next Moto X. All I want is a 1080p screen, Qi charging, and a better camera. I'm sure they'll add some more awesome software features as well. Really looking forward to it!

I'd like to be looking forward to the next Nexus, but unless they decide to make it smaller, I'm not interested. I can't imagine they'll do that though. It'll probably be 5.2 inches. 4.7-inch is my max.

I'm looking forward to the iPhone 6, Moto X (2014), HTC One Mini (2014), and Galaxy S5 Mini. It would be nice to see some Google Play Edition Minis.

Moto X2 or whatever they call it. Hopefully motorola will have a phablet in the plans as well.

Many people may find this weird, but I don't think the moto X needs to go 1080p. The non pentile 720p screen in the current model is very good (much better than the screen in the galaxy s3 and galaxy nexus). In some ways its actually better than the gs4/gs5 screen. It also has one of the lowest power consumptions of any screen tested period including the iphone 5. This wasn't your run of the mill 720p display.
