I am a heavy user* and from my experience BB Passport and Droid Turbo have great battery life. They're in a league of their own, even on a heavy day i still get home with 15+% left.
Sony Z3 and Z3c and Samsung Note 4 are good too. They're ok most of the time, but they are dead at the end of a really long day.
I haven't tested the LG G4 enough, but i think it's comparable to the Sonys.
6 Plus has the best standby, but once you use it it's not not that great. Plus it's the most expensive one and with the 6s plus around the corner i wouldn't buy it.
iPhone 6 and S6 edge are terrible, i never make it through the day.

Of course YMMV. :)

* what i mean by a heavy user:
4 email accounts with push, i receive ~300 emails per day and i send ~70.
lots of messaging apps (Facebook messenger, Whatsapp, BBM, yahoo messenger, etc)
screen brightness turn up almost all the time
facebook/instagram/twitter/other social apps.
internet browsing
i never use wi-fi, nfc, bt, gps (safety reasons).

And no, i'm not a drug dealer or a pimp. :)

Huawei Ascend Mate2 from last year is still a Top 3 contender.

Power efficient Snapdragon 400
720p
3900 mAh

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact
OnePlus One
Samsung Galaxy Note 4
Gionee Marathon M3 / BLU Studio Energy
ZTE ZMAX

^^ Get a minimum of 10+ hours SOT and fantastic standby time like the iPhone 4 did.

And several Windows Phones are reaching 9+ hrs powering a 720p and 2200 mAh battery. WP are more efficient than Androids in the same price range. I say WP is better in the sub-$150 market than Android.

Personally, my LG G3 Beat (aka Vigor / S) gives me 10+ hrs SOT on 2G/3G browsing or video watching easily. Maybe 11+ hrs and 15-20% better than my Xiaomi. The first 1% doesn't degrade until after the 35 min mark like my old iPhone 4 did. I would have 95% after 1 hr SOT or 75-80% after 3 hrs! It degrades 3% on standby every 24 hours. LG skin feels heavy and kinda laggy though but a 2540 mAh REMOVABLE battery powering a 720p/"5 display and 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 is more than efficient enough to get me through a day or two. I don't feel that much heat either playing games like I did with an SoC over 2 GHz. I can cross nearly 5-6 hrs SOT before I hit the 50% mark and it drains slowly under 30%. I hate phones like the HTC One M7 where it drains much faster after it reaches under 20%. It will say 18% and after 5 min, down to 8%. I remember iPhone 4 was quite a slow burner under 20%. I could still play 2 hrs of music with headphones on my last 3%. Tyoical gaming can go 4-5 hrs but my LG probably can reach 6-7 hrs since 1.2 GHz is near equal to power saving mode on some phones.

mine did until lollipop...now it is rather bad for a note device.

I gave my Note 4 to my mother, two days after I upgraded it to lollipop, so I haven't had experience to judge. She hasn't complained about battery life so far, but I wouldn't say she's a reliable source when it comes to tech.

Any idea why you having bad battery on lollipop?

Not sure but on gsam it seems as if apps are using a lot in the background

Says on average apps are using 55-60% where on my edge it's 20-30%
