Still a small sample as of now but shocked how few people find the Jobs size to not work best for them

How the times have changed ! :D

I have been rockin' the Gen 1 12.9 and Mini 4 for some time. Couple weeks ago I picked up the 10.5 to see if I could have just one iPad in my life. Well it is on it way back and I will be picking up the new 12.9. I felt it was too big for on the go and not big enough when I am at home. The Mini 4 fits in my cargo shorts great and is easy to hold. The 12.9 is great for my needs at home at my desk or lounging on the couch. Hoping Apple will refresh the Mini!

9.7 or 10.5

I use the iPad one-handed a lot.

I don’t really want a display much larger or smaller for my purposes. 10.5 was a nice size bump from the 9.7. It took me a couple days to adjust, but for the most part it still has the form factor I love.

I’ve been tempted by the 12.9 this time around, but whenever I need more screen real estate I’m usually grabbing my MacBook and doing work I don’t do on my iPad anyway.

I've always favoured the Mini form factor.
Small enough to fit in the palm of the hand or even a large pocket, but still large enough to offer a tablet experience as opposed to a phone/phablet.

12.9 wifi only, my favourite Ipad, mostly used at home.

Air2 cellular for mobility and at home. Haven't seen the 10.5 yet.

I wasn't sure how to vote since I couldn't vote for more than one.

The 12.9 and 7.9 are the iPads that work best for me. There is of course overlap in their functions, but these are the functions that are important to me in which each device excels uniquely by a significantly high margin (among my devices at least, but in most cases of any device):

12.9 - very portable digital drawing, always in my bag laptop replacement, very portable content immersion, comics and illustration viewing, portable secondary display for my laptop

7.9 - ereading, taking notes under the radar, super portability around the house for general iPad use

But I think why I choose these iPads makes more sense when looking at all my devices. To complete the picture:

iPhone SE - always with me and unobtrusive communication and computing, the only true one-handed device. This is like my tech pocket knife.

15" MBP - (portable) work station for heavier duty macOS software

21" Cintiq - bigger screen drawing at my desk

Mac mini - always home computer, media hub, central file hub with time machine backup

This is the most ideal setup I believe I can have right now. But this is because of my job as a media artist, which is somewhat demanding tech-wise. If I had a less techie job, or one I could completely separate from my personal life, I would probably have the SE, a 7.9, and a 12" MacBook or 13" MBP. Since in this case the only iPad I would have is the 7.9", I ended up just voting for that.

I have 3 iPad's;

iPad mini 4 128GB This comes with me every day in my bag and to the office.

iPad Pro 10.5 256GB. Just bought and is used mainly at home in front of the TV or as now, writing this, at my girlfriend's house.

iPad 12.9 128GB (2016). This also gets used at home. All my iPad's are cellular but will be upgrading the 12.9 to a WIFI only model as it never leaves the house.

10.5, but it was a very hard choice. The 12.9 is absolutely marvelous but it's just too darn big for me. I like the 10.5 because it fills that void between my iPhone and my laptop. It's super portable, super lightweight, very easy to one-hand, but still large enough for note taking, movie watching, etc. The 12.9 (especially when paired with the Smart Keyboard, something I use all the time) starts to approach laptop territory and for me the point of the iPad is having something that is more portable than a laptop.

This my exact reason & why I bought the 9.7 iPad.
