iPad is winning on MACRumors forum.

Go figure...

I believe an iPad would win on many forums. It's a great device. I used to own one, and I much preferred it to my Android tablet. However, I just happen to be a Surface 2 convert now.

I have an Nexus 7 (2013) and an iPad mini(R). I can't really say either one is a clear favorite. Each is better for different purposes. A good example is the app I'm using right now..Tapatalk HD on the iPad. I have this app on the Nexus 7, but the iPad version is much better. Other areas where the iPad is way better are book and magazine reading..I've always liked iBooks. And compare Time or Nat Geo on the two and the iPad wins again. Most of the time the iPad versions of apps are superior. However when it comes to playing games, listening to music, or watching videos the Nexus 7 has the iPad beat except of course when a game is exclusive to the iPad. Though 16:9 videos are exactly the same size on both devices the colors are better on the Nexus. And the thing that really puts the Nexus ahead for games, video and music is the sound quality. The speakers are properly placed for use in landscape mode ( are you listening, Apple?) and deliver a great surround sound effect at a healthy volume. The Nexus also has an advantage when it comes to file handling and moving stuff to and from the tablet. It lets you do a lot of stuff that would need a jailbreak on iOS, though iOS has a much smoother, polished feel to it than does even the newest version of Android ( currently Kit-kat 4.4.2) Flash is a bit less of an advantage than it used to be since with Kit Kat it can only be gotten to work with Dolphin browser. Since I've been a Firefox user since it first came out on the desktop having to use Dolphin is a definite minus for me. I still tend to grab the Nexus for web browsing since for non Flash I can still use Firefox. And Firefox syncs nicely across tablet, Mac, and Windows pc's. I found that when using Firefox and needing to view a YouTube video I can just send the output to one of my video apps or even the native YouTube app, where it will play, though not in a window on the web page like it used to before Kit Kat.
As to web browsing in general the iPad does have a more suitable screen size and shape, and if Firefox were available on iPad I'd probably be a lot more inclined to use it for browsing. No doubt if there were such a thing as Firefox for iOS it would run circles around the Android version.

iPad. Seamless media/app/music cloud sync with my MacBook and iPhone and PC.

Tried an android tablet and a kindle but the hoops I had to jump through to sync it with everything wasn't worth the trouble. I spent more time on the computer tweeking my google account settings and using 3rd party syncing services than I did actually using my tablet.

Happily back in the iOS ecosystem .

I've only owned a first gen Nexus 7 and an iPad Air, and the iPad is hands down better in my opinion. I even liked my brother's 1st gen iPad mini better than my Nexus 7. My Nexus 7 lags like no other when you have just a few apps open, and you always have to wait for new games to be released on Android. I haven't used it in about 6 months anyway. The one thing I really like about Android that I wish was available on iOS is choosing default apps. That's about it. I wonder if I'm able to do that with a jailbreak though.

I'm in love with my ASUS Transformer Book T100. Best Buy had the 32GB model for $299 a few weekends ago and I'm thoroughly impressed with the thing. It's quick, the battery lasts all day, it's a convertible that comes with the keyboard, it runs full Windows 8.1, has a microSD card slot, and comes with Office Home & Student edition for free. You can't beat that really.

That is b.c the first gen nexus 7 is trash....try a second gen. It is seriously a night and day difference.

I don't use my tablet aside from web browsing and checking my email.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 had its fair chance against an iPad 2 (running iOS 5) for me...

It had a superior quadcore processor, pen based input (very smooth and accurate) and 4X the ram.

The ultra-crash-prone, tab-reloading, out of date, mobile Safari was much better than the most current version of Chrome on the Note 8.0. Any sort of pinch to zoom is inferior in Android. Additionally the screen on the Note 8 was pretty jarring when reading text. (take a look at black text on a white background with an iPad next to a Note 8.0)

Not a fanboy but a general user of Apple products.
