I have an Nexus 7 (2013) and an iPad mini(R). I can't really say either one is a clear favorite. Each is better for different purposes. A good example is the app I'm using right now..Tapatalk HD on the iPad. I have this app on the Nexus 7, but the iPad version is much better. Other areas where the iPad is way better are book and magazine reading..I've always liked iBooks. And compare Time or Nat Geo on the two and the iPad wins again. Most of the time the iPad versions of apps are superior. However when it comes to playing games, listening to music, or watching videos the Nexus 7 has the iPad beat except of course when a game is exclusive to the iPad. Though 16:9 videos are exactly the same size on both devices the colors are better on the Nexus. And the thing that really puts the Nexus ahead for games, video and music is the sound quality. The speakers are properly placed for use in landscape mode ( are you listening, Apple?) and deliver a great surround sound effect at a healthy volume. The Nexus also has an advantage when it comes to file handling and moving stuff to and from the tablet. It lets you do a lot of stuff that would need a jailbreak on iOS, though iOS has a much smoother, polished feel to it than does even the newest version of Android ( currently Kit-kat 4.4.2) Flash is a bit less of an advantage than it used to be since with Kit Kat it can only be gotten to work with Dolphin browser. Since I've been a Firefox user since it first came out on the desktop having to use Dolphin is a definite minus for me. I still tend to grab the Nexus for web browsing since for non Flash I can still use Firefox. And Firefox syncs nicely across tablet, Mac, and Windows pc's. I found that when using Firefox and needing to view a YouTube video I can just send the output to one of my video apps or even the native YouTube app, where it will play, though not in a window on the web page like it used to before Kit Kat.
As to web browsing in general the iPad does have a more suitable screen size and shape, and if Firefox were available on iPad I'd probably be a lot more inclined to use it for browsing. No doubt if there were such a thing as Firefox for iOS it would run circles around the Android version.
