Whine or No Whine - Does Your Mac Studio Suffer From It?

Your poll should differentiate between Mac Studio's with the M1 Max vs the M1 Ultra since the cooling set ups are different.
So, I have two Studio Ultras and one Max. All were dead silent...at first. One of them now has the whine. In a really quiet room its audible and yes it's annoying. Unfortunately the one with the whine is in the most quiet space of all of them...irony.
I found a place with the configuration I wanted who has it in stock. I'm afraid to order it because they have a no return policy on opened computers. That's why I'm asking.

Anecdotal evidence hasn't shown one more prone to it than the other.
No whine or excessive fan noise on my M1 Max...
I wish you had Ultra and Max permutations of your survey. Pretty sure owners of both have complained but the cooling systems are different.
I have an M1 Max and M1 Ultra, both make the high pitch fan whine.
M1 Max base model with 1TB SSD. Running on may desk, three feet from my ears since April 5. No whine. No excess fan noise.
I'm afraid to order from B&H due to their return policy. The wait time for ordering directly from Apple is pretty long (now into July). M2 CPUs will likely be announced at WWDC but I'm unsure when they will be available. I might as well wait until next month to see what happens.
You know, just like many others, you can cancel it anytime if you find out something in WWDC that you want over the M1
M1 Max. Definitely a very light fan noise coming but I only notice it because I used to have a M1 mac mini which was silent. It's still much quieter than my PC build which has near silent Noctua fans.
I have a Studio Ultra it's fan's have been quiet and I have not hear any high-pitched whine, neither has anyone else that has listened for noise.
Generally speaking it seems the Max has more trouble with the "whine" than the Ultra.
I hope to receive my Max (10 / 32 | 64 GB RAM) somewhere in June. Maybe I have an opinion then. 😁
This is likely because more people are buying the Max than the Ultra... so you'll see more people complaining of the problem who have the Max.

Without whining, I'm going to break the mood.
Yesterday I received my second Mac studio Max and like the first, it whistles. I'm not talking about the normal fan spinning noise at 1300 rpm, I'm talking about an unbearable electronic hiss in a quiet room.
I'm going to give up on this machine, I think, and order something else.
