To clear up confusion on the weight difference in the sports bands:

They are different weights due to the pigments used to colour the fleurolastomer.

For instance, to obtain the colour white, they are most likely using titanium dioxide, and for black they are most likely using carbon. Titanium dioxide weighs a lot more/is more dense than carbon, even in small amounts.

Other colours use other compounds/or a mixture thereof, to achieve the desired pigment.

I worked in a chemical processing plant and used pigments frequently, that's how I've obtained this knowledge. :)

I've just snapped up a brand new Apple Sports band in white on eBay for £17. The guy didn't like it and it was the one he got with the Watch a couple of days ago. I don't think he did much research because that was the 'buy it now' price and he could have got double that from what I've seen.

I had a third party version and my only complaint is the amount of lint it attracts. From what most people have said here the OEM version is a superior rubber so i'll see what I get back tomorrow.

There is a guy selling on Reddit /Applebandmarket a whole bunch of bands, $20 each. I bought from him and got ridiculously good prices on sports bands (white and orange) and a black Milanese loop, all mint condition. I saved like $300.

They all tend to be small sizes though.

He's legit, prompt and ships fast.

Since different colors use different materials for the pigment, would that affect thickness and feel of the strap? The white also feels thicker besides weighing more. Also the white feels more spongy. I also wonder if white has more flex. What makes the sport band comfortable is that it has flex or give when you wear it snug on your wrist. The band will stretch and bounce back as you move your arm. Milanese is also comfortable snug in wrist. But if you want to wear AW loose the sport band is rigid and will keep its shape while the Milanese you can only wear it snug.

Yes, different compounds in pigments may yield a different feel.

I don't know exactly what they are using in the pigments, so I can't say why exactly each band feels different.

But if it were titanium dioxide being used for white VS carbon for black, the white would be more dense.

Just got my white sport band delivered to go with my space grey sport watch. I think white is underrated. Looks great on the SGS as does the Fog band which I also own. After wearing the knockoff Nike bands for awhile, I forgot how nice the OEM bands feel vs the silicone.

Looks great. I love the white on my SS and the fog too. Think I may try and track down a reduced price Concrete.

I tried already. Been watching eBay for two weeks for a concrete 42mm. Missed out on one at $34 buy it now because I offered $25. Before they responded, someone bought it full price. There's a pawn shop in Illinois selling one now for $44.99 but they never responded to my offer so I don't trust their sale.

I gave up and ended up buying one from Best Buy as an open box but excellent condition. It's the only reduced price concrete I can find.

The only other concrete ones on eBay are single straps. I'm so mad I passed up on the BNIB one being sold by a non vendor. All the other colors are fetching $24.99 BNIB if you look on eBay. Concrete and Product Red seem like the hardest and more expensive. A Product Red in 42 just sold for $74 on eBay the other day. Wow!

I'm in the UK and not seen the Concrete reduced anywhere, so still £49 here.

I have a Product Red, but hardly wear it.

Good luck!

I got my brand new Apple White sports band today and can confirm it's much better quality than the MoKo version I bought 2 weeks ago. I only paid £17 as opposed to the £49 Apple charge so that's even sweeter.

I certainly won't be paying full price for these straps in future but eBay seems awash with secondhand examples so I don't think you actually need to. Very happy with it.

After changing back and forth b/w Midnight and White, why does the White feel so darn supple and well-made?!!! I wish my Midnight blue Sport had the same feeling. The White really does make the SS shine so much better (to my eyes)...and feels so good on my wrist!

I've made the white my everyday band. Wore the concrete for 3 days with the intention of making it my every day band, but something keeps drawing me back to the white.

I think the white band just looks classy. I can wear it with just about anything and it has a clean, Stark, very modern look to it. Even though it's a plastic band, it still has a very nice feel to it. Definitely the most popular band I think I see in the public. And compared to all my sport bands I own, the white sport band has a much more dense feel to it. Which I know every sport band varies in weight.

I see very few Apple watches in public so have had quite a few comments about mine when I wear it. The white is the nicest band in my opinion. I'm amazed how it stays so clean. I haven't noticed any difference in weight to the concrete band I own however. Then again I haven't physically weighed either.

I have Fog, and bought Concrete. Returned Concrete as too close to Fog to warrant keeping. My sport bands are White, Fog and prob Walnut. Oh and my new Nike ones lol
