I’ve sworn off white on iPads, although still find them ok with iPhones. The biggest issue I’ve had is with color. Either the screen or the bezels always looked yellow to me depending on the screen calibration.

Why would you deny the choice to people who want it? That makes absolutely no sense.

All of the colors Apple offers look better with a black bezel. Now if you want for example gold or rose gold back you are stuck with a white front bezel so it's really Apple dictating what you can and can't have. The black bezel also helps blend the display into the device.

Bezel colors have never been an issue for me, white or black. Black obviously is the chosen favorite due to how everything blends in seamlessly, but I do like the contrast of white, as I have chosen this for my iPhone in the past. My best suggestion would be to compare and iPad bezel colors side-by-side and see what attracts you more.

To you they look better. Clearly, many people like the white bezel.

Some designs just look better in a certain color. I prefer iPads in white but I have a Jet Black iPhone 7 as I prefer that for the design. Macbooks I prefer the traditional silver and black keys, probably out of familiarity.

I had both. White isn't distracting because you get used to it, in my opinion, but I like black more.

Been going back and forth on this a lot. Not a current iPad owner but will have to get the new one blind because I’m flying in from abroad.

I’ve tried both in the local store and done a **** ton of research. Seems like if you do a lot of Word, safari, research and / or notes the white may work better. Movies, I suppose you could get used to it. Bezel wise the black looks better when turned off.

Pretty sure I’ll go with white but it’s jist going to come down to personal preference. And who knows, if the beZels are so small they may go the iPhone X way and keep a color on the back with black on the front.

Touch call really but it’s personal. Not sure anyone can advise you on this.

People have pointed out that there’s a thin black line on the white version between the content and the bezel. The OCD part of me would go bonkers. Also it’ll never be a perfect match with the screen and again, THAT would drive me bonkers. So who knows? Let’s see what they release and I’ll make one last trip to the shop before pulling the trigger. I go classless on all my devices so the back color does matter to me.

Quick follow up. I did end up going to the store and was able to play with a l0.5 in rose gold and another with space grey. Love the rose gold. But NO WAY could I go with a white bezel.

1. The white on the screen and the white on the bezel never matches. The bezel looked the color of urine compared to the screen. It would drive me nuts.

2. The often mentioned black line between the screen and the bezel. If you know iTs there it’s v distracting and there’s no way to avoid noticing it. This coming from someone who isn’t really bothered by the notch on the X. That line? Too many colors on screen now besides the content.

Black beZels all the way. Here’s hoping they use the X model and give us color options for the back with the black floating edge to edge look on the front. If not, space grey it is and I’ll throw a dbandz bamboo skin on the back if I want something different.

While I think Black is better, I bought a gold 2018 iPad because I wanted something different and my mom might inherit it (she has a silver iPad 2 and doesn’t care).

If I get another iPad Pro, it will be black.

I actually prefer white front on iPad and black front on iPhone. No real reason, just what I am used to.

I think it is, but I guess it depends on your usage. I use my iPad mostly for business and could manage with iCloud for extra space. However, when I go away or on holiday (sometimes to places with rubbish internet connection) it’s great to be able to load the iPad up with video etc and not worry about storage.
For me, storage space is most important. I tend to buy iPad with the largest storage available to carry all my business documents, and good choice of music and videos when travelling
