I’m still hoping they do a bit to visually differentiate the iPad iOS experience, especially on the home screen. That same grid of apps which looked striking back on iOS1.0 in 2007, when iOS was only found on 3.5” screens, had already started looking barren on iPads since the very first one in 2010. And as iPads have gotten bigger and “more serious”, that same home screen layout still persists. It looks pretty ridiculous on a 12.9 inch screen.

I think I’m ready for widgets, even if it only means an option to transfer over the Notification Center widgets to the home screen, or some hybrid of the two. Ever since they introduced the dock that you can access from within any app, having the home screen default to that same grid of apps has never seemed less necessary.

I once had categorized all my app into 7 different folders and put all 7 folders on the dock. I left with blank home screen with 7 folder cramped in the dock. I had this setup for half years and then I cannot handle this anymore.

Yes, home screen redesign is seriously needed with iOS. I always customized my Android devices the way i like and put several useful widgets on the first screen of home pages.

However, I am still fine with current home screen setup. I would like mouse support and fille support. If the floating Windows thing are true, mouse support is necessary. Mouse printer is more accurate than finger or pencil. And I am seriously tired of constantly need to left my arm and touch the screen while my iPad Pro is docked with the Smart Keyboard.

Of course, I’d like to see a home screen design in addition to other big additions like file system access, external storage access, mouse/trackpad support, multiple windows of the same app (beyond just Safari) in addition to the stuff that’s been suggested from insiders, like floating app windows. All of this would be welcome to really start making iPads feel more like real work platforms.

As always iPad Pro 9.7" with 2gb of ram and iPad 5 and 6 will suffer on iOS 13. It will be the same as running iOS 8 on an iPad 2. Even on iOS 12 my old iPad Pro 9.7 sometimes in youtube, it randomly force close.

One of the most exciting features on iOS 13, according to rumor, Safari will be always default to desktop version. I am super excited for the change. There are two many websites are defaulting to mobile version on the iPad and it is really annoying. Finally, I don’t need force the browser going to desktop version.

One of other thing i am excited about is the floating windows. Finally, we are no longer being tied with split windows.

If Apple can add Bluetooth mouse support and external storage support, that would be nice.

I'm happy to keep my iPad Mini 2 on iOS 10.

For some reason apple gut punched the iPad 9.7” pro owners. The first iPad Pro 12.9” from 2015 had 4GB of ram. Then in 2016 they release a 9.7” Pro with 2GB of ram? What a cheap move on apples part. I dunno why they did that.

I think there will be some great multitasking features in IOS 13, i'm looking forward to seeing the floating windows. I'm also interested in how Apple will implement the feature, that users will be able to use their iPad's as another display for the Mac, with Apple Pencil support.

Counting on iOS 13 to finally bring a real file system, USB storage and multiple instances or multitasking of the same app.
I held off buying an iPad until these features are confirmed. Hoping I don’t have to purchase something else instead.

There are quite a few threads like this one all with a shopping list of features that people would like to see in iOS 13, but I think it gets forgotten that iOS was designed as a mobile OS and the more powerful this OS is made the more power it will need to run. That power will have to be drawn from the battery and this makes any device which runs iOS less mobile as the time between charges is significantly reduced. I would think that we won’t see a real revolution in iOS until battery technology has moved on to another level. Just a thought.

As 9.7" Pro owner, I can't agree more. I mean, I definitely should have looked at the specs closer before buying but it was the "Pro" designation, the features, plus the form factor that sold me on getting my first iPad.

So here's hoping Apple doesn't leave 9.7" Pro owners out in the cold when it comes to the one thing I'm really excited to see that has been rumored, floating windows.

I've downloaded the project reports say it resembles and it runs really well on the baby pro. I love the concept and love the idea that this might work over the home screen. But, in realistic fairness to the way most multitasking features have worked on the baby pro thus far, I also think that (if this happens) we might be limited to two apps running in panes with with a PiP playing on top, much the same way it's limited to two apps running side-by-side with a PiP video playing over top.

But, if we're given even this, and it will run on the baby 9.7" Pro, I will me more than happy.

None of the features most people are asking for are particularly CPU intensive. Things like games or rendering video are much more CPU intensive than something like multitasking, external storage support or mouse support and the iPad handles those just fine.

iOS 12 runs way smoother on most devices than 11 did. “As always “ conclusions don’t work that accurately anymore since the platform matured and processing power doesn’t and cannot differentiate device generations that strongly anymore.

I'm also hoping for a proper external display support, rather than mirroring the 4:3 internal display

Give me this, access to external storage and mouse support and my iPad would be infinitely more usable to me (along with the rumored multi-tasking improvements).

I wish apple would just create a modified Mac OS for the iPad pros. They could even call it iOS lol. Just a lighter version with good touch input, full file system, multiple windows available to be stacked on each other. That would be awesome.

I don’t have a Pro but for the price, this seems fair to me. It would take something like this to make me go for a top end iPad.

This, mouse support, and a real desktop browser are my biggest wants. I'd love to one day not have any desktop/laptop computer in my office and instead have a USB-C monitor, with keyboard/mouse/speakers/etc hooked up to it, that would allow me to dock my iPad and have a desktop setup. Sure, you can sort of do that today but it sucks since it just mirrors your iPad's display or only works somewhat well with certain apps (that I don't use). This would get me real close to being able to use an iPad as my home computer.

There are so many Mac features that my iPad needs in order to replace my Mac that I don’t even bother making that list. It’s much simpler for me to come at it the other way and say I want iPad features to come to Mac, and in fact only one feature: pencil support (I don’t even want touch). But pencil support would also require a slate or convertible form factor, which is probably just as unlikely as all those Mac features coming to iPad.

For me, the one big iPad thing I want is BT mouse and trackpad support. I want to put my unused Magic Mouse to use with my iPad, and I’d definitely get a trackpad too. That would be a real game changer for me.

Other than that, there are a bunch of little things on my list I’ve always said that I really want to see the missing iPhone apps finally come to the iPad - Weather, Calculator, Health, Activity, Phone, (with voicemail access), even Wallet would have a place now that the Apple Card is coming out and the interface is getting updated with more details on recent transactions. I’d also like to see uses for the F3-F6 buttons on the Magic Keyboard. As it is now, F3 and F4 have the Mac Expose and Launchpad icons printed on the keys, but do nothing on iOS. They’d work great as shortcuts to the app switcher and Home screen. It’d be cool if we could choose what to use the blank F5 and F6 keys for. The other media and volume/brightness keys work, so it’s funny that those other keys are left out.

Finally, the non-iPad specific things I want in iOS 13 are for all devices to show in Now Playing so that I can control what’s playing natively on my iPhone from my iPad, etc, and all devices (and their connected BT things) to show in the Battery widget. The Clock apps on my iOS devices and HomePods should be synced so that alarms/timers go off everywhere and can be dismissed from any of those devices. I’d also like all the channels that I get from streaming services to play natively in the TV app without having to go to another app.

I saw a lot of people claiming iOS 13 would bring an accessible system to the iPad. Linking to tweets from the top guys about opening up usb functionality and all that.

After that leak about the iOS 13 features though, it seems that it won't be happening...
