$5 per month for a calendar app lol? Normally my apps have a major update every three years. Thats $180 for a single app's major release.

So either I have this calendar app for three years, or I buy a pair of AirPods. I think I know which has the most value.

I can't comment on the current iOS 14 beta, as I'm not using it myself, but the scrolling wheel in iOS 13 is awful. I hate it with a passion. It's so damn hard to use - scroll just a bit too fast, and it will go way past your target in a fraction of a second, and you'll have to scroll back (and you'll face the same issue while trying to scroll back). Scroll slowly enough to keep that from happening, and it will take ages (and an awful lot of scrolls) to reach your target. In fact, it seems to have only two scrolling speeds: one by one, or lightning fast. Nothing in between. I hate it.
I do hope they come up with something better in iOS 14.
You know that you can stop the scrolling wheel anytime, just by tapping on it?

It's a "feature" that makes it a whole lot more infuriating to use. Just like the text magnifier that no longer exists.

I like the new way of having the option to type or scroll, but the scroll “interface” might be too small. It’s difficult to select a number that is close to what was already displayed. For example if you have 2 already shown and want to scroll to 4 your finger is still covering the input box.

The inconsistency is staggering.

calendar: click on the time and enter it in one go as 1445

alarm: click on the time and you have to enter the hours and minutes separately. Eg click hour and enter 14. Click on the minute and enter 45.

You really would think it would work the same in all stock apps.

So if I type in 3:90 in calendar and hit “Add” it quietly converts it to 4:30.

Which is kind-of right (ninety minutes after three) but odd nonetheless.

At least with the old wheel UI you couldn’t enter imaginary times like 25:00 or 3:99 - so with this new UI you still need to look and confirm that what you thought you typed is what you actually got.

It does feel rushed/unfinished.

I’ve just spent some time inputting a bunch of appointments with the new picker on my iPad Pro and I HATE this picker. WHen you touch it with your finger, you can’t see what number you’re scrolling to; I have to peer around my own finger to see what I’ve selected.

It’s really badly designed, uncharacteristically so. Nice idea but with a fatal flaw in practice.

Aside from simply being able to just type the time in without the need to scroll, as I recall, you can scroll having your finger somewhere above or below the time as well once the time is selected.

Touch and hold the hours or minutes and slide your finger up and down across the ENTIRE screen.

You are not limited to the tiny little input box. The entire screen is a scrolling surface, even though it doesn’t look like it.
