It looks a little thick. Other than that no problem. Where did you get the full sized photo of the iPad. I'm getting the 3G model so I have to wait, but the case will be delivered on the 3rd so I would like to also make up something to put in it and see what it looks like.

iPad madness has struck me too.....

I couldn't help myself. I look at it every night in it's future easy access end table holster. My wife thinks I'm nuts!!!!!!!:apple:

This was on the front page awhile back.

I thought about doing one just to make sure it fit in a bag I have, but never got around to getting A4 paper.

I cut out a rectangle of scrap matboard the size of the iPad so that I could get a feel for the size of the thing. Luckily it fits into most of the cargo pockets on my summertime shorts. I've already created a space next to my desk for mine to live. In the living room it will probably live on top of the short bookcase next to the couch, running photo slide shows. I haven't bought a case yet, and will probably get a netbook sleeve until some cool cases come out. I learned my lesson from the iPhone. The best cases come out a little later on--especially after they are able to fit the device in person. I'll probably pick one up in the summer if I can stand to wait that long.

Printed out an iPad on normal paper to see what size it'll be. It's really thin and light, it's totally going to sell! /lol
I also found some around the house objects that weigh 720g -- to imagine how magically light it will be.

my girlfriend already thinks i'm nuts just by the amount of times she has caught me on these forums reading about the ipad. If she caught me making a cardboard iPad I think it might just be the breaking point in our relationship :D

Meh...drop her. You don't need her bringing you down! My wife married me knowing that I have Apple on the brain. Now shes always on her iPhone doing something. Can hardly wait to get my new MBP or iMac next year so she can inherit my old MBP and we can ditch her crappy Dell. She also gets my iPad next year if the upgrade to v2 is worth it.

I didn't print one out, but I did measure one of my old mouse pads and trim it to be the exact dimensions for testing purposes of sleeves and where I might dock it on my desk...

I printed out a photo at life size, and glued it to a piece of cardboard just to get a feel of the size. It felt really good. The bezel is the same width as your thumb, and you will still be able to thumb type.

Today I actually cut a 1/2" thick plywood board to the exact dimensions and even sanded the beveled edges into it and painted the back silver and the front black. I even stuck an apple logo on the back. It's almost real! Now I have a good feel of how big it is and I can now make my stands to hold it when i'm using it.:)
