Those who only Safari in landscape are missing out on one of the best features of the iPad, zooming in onto long vertical columns of text. Great for reading all types of articles and blogs. Not only do you get more text on the screen at a time, you also cut off ads that are usually on the right/left

I don't agree dude. Long articles and extensive pages are seem perfect in landscape mode. It's also good for checking threads on my favorite Apple rumors site :D

Yeah me too... 90% of time.

The 10% of time I use it in portrait is because:

a) the app doesn't have landscape mode.... doh

b) it's an iphone app that doesn't have landscape (and apple hasn't still figured out iphone apps in portrait mode fit vertically into ipad landscape mode)

c) I'm reading an ebook that works better in portrait mode

For browsing I usually using portrait since most web pages are longer than they are broad. But I will switch to landscape for typing due to the larger keyboard.

Mine has been locked in landscape mode for ages now.

The only time I use it in portrait is when a game has been written that way.

I will say it now and I've said it again before:

I want it (and always have wanted it) to be 16:9 widescreen.

With the extra pixels across the widescreen would give, the iPad would not have to crunch down the pixels width wise when web browsing.

95% landscape. I usually have the lock on. I even prefer using iBooks in the landscape mode. The only time I switch is if an app doesn't look quite right and, if it's an iPad native app, I usually email a complaint to the developer about whatever is wrong on the landscape UI in the hope that they fix it. I hope that one day I will never need portrait mode.
